I almost jumped for joy when I got the email this morning.

I don't blame ya. I once had an employer ask me about a moving violating that happened about 5 years prior. I think I've had 3 tickets in my entire life.

Whoo hooooo! No more night shift for me. I got extremely lucky. Due to staffing changes, promotions, people leaving, etc. I ended up getting moved to day shift. Not sure how or why, because it's usually for a year you are stuck there, and there are a number of people on night shift that have more experience.

Kind of quick for me, as I am still familiarizing myself with the campus infrastructure and even how to navigate all the company systems and our way of doing things.

Will be 3-4x the pace of night shift and a lot more responsibilities. Awesome hours. W, Th, F, S 6:00a-4:30p.

Super excited to join normal people schedules.

Not totally surprising. When one shows themself to be a hustler, more interested in getting stuff done and moving the company forward than standing around bitching about office politics, doors tend to open. It is also possible that some of those more senior folks may prefer night shift, either because they just prefer working nights or because they like the slower pace. Regardless, enjoy days and keep up the good work that got you there!

Fantastic news Jesse!
It sounds like it will be a fast paced position which I always preferred as it made the days go by quicker.

Congrats.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Congrats Jesse-

You were at our house for only a few hours but not only did my wife and I instantly like you, your integrity and genuiness came through loud and clear.

Those things don't show up on a resume. You will no doubt advance with your employer and will be successful. The qualities you have will be valued and recognized as each day goes by. We're both very happy for you!
