It sure is. I hope it stays this way. One of my current worries is that while it did not take long for me to accept everything and get to a point of being comfortable with my demise, it can be hard work to sustain such over the long haul. If I step out of that comfort zone too far, my fear is that it will be difficult if not impossible to get back to that if and when things go south. I actually know better than that and it will not happen. My personal philosophy regarding my death is pretty much set in stone. However, as we have discussed previously, strange thoughts and thoughts I never considered I would have fill my consciousness throughout this ordeal. I think what I said makes sense, for me anyway. I did have some serious mindset changes that were necessary once informed of my illness. That's understandable. I am blessed to have had this illness come up now rather than even a mere year ago. Opdivo was not available back then and after the Votrient not working, the picture for me would be much grimmer indeed. You know... dead by Christmas. That is the path I was on. I might still be, I really do not know. Oh, and while I am here, and though I should not announce this for a few months, my youngest daughter is pregnant again. This is really good news. She laughed when I told her I might have a new nickname for her... Miracle-Gro. More about Hawaii later, I need to decompress from the best trip of my life. It was truly a spectacular gift from God. ____________________________________________________ New and improved super concentrated me: Proud rebel, heretic, and Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal. I was told today that based on the scan I had last August that showed improvement, that I should make the most of the next year. They do not know the long term future however. I will take that year of added life and hope for the best. If my youngest daughter has a successful outcome for her pregnancy, I will live to see my first grandchild. What a gift from God all this would be. Again... lots of great things happening late in my life. ____________________________________________________ New and improved super concentrated me: Proud rebel, heretic, and Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal. Fantastic news lbj. If you're anything like me, it will be awhile for that great news to fully sink in. After fighting cancer myself for the better part of this past year and the process nearly killing me twice, literally, that when my Oncologist told me that he is declaring me to be cancer free recently, I couldn't fully absorb that news for a number of days at least. My whole mindset had to change and it came slowly. It is wonderful that you will probably be around to see your first grandchild born. What a blessed gift that is. I pray that you continue getting good news into the far future. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird | |||
