My deepest condolences! I know it is a difficult thing. My sister died at age 45 and it nearly killed our mother when it happened. My prayers for him and you and your family. God will send solace, but it will take time.

Much respect for his service.

Smartest dog I ever met. Sadly Stark has been being treated for lymphoma this past year plus. Given his condition and prospects he won't be made available for anyone else. Arrangements for his care have been made so he'll be with folks that love him for the time he has left.

No foul play. Appears an illness / infection he was dealing with may be the cause.

He was to finally escape California later this month. Moving contract, rental agreements at his destination, etc. all set up.

You never expect to outlive your children. This is hard....

From a January 2020 visit he made here with his service dog Stark

And when he was flown to NYC to be honored in 2017:

Damn, damn, damn!!!! So terribly sorry to hear this! Prayers for all affected by his passing. And additional prayers for all our wounded veterans!!

Nicky, no. No children or wife. Just parents, sibling, and a large extended family.
