Raised Hands Surround Us Three Nails To Protect Us |
So after I posted the thread our good friend Beancooker offered up some of the CBD products. My grandfather as started using them and while he will not say he is in less pain he is back to getting up at a normal hour and spending less time in bed. Is it a placebo effect maybe so but it has gotten him out of bed so I really don’t care. Granny has had one knee replaced and gets periodic injections in the other that tend to wear off about a month before the next can be administered. She has been having added knee pain as the next injection is set for next month. So she decided to use it as well. She claims her knee does not hurt as bad. So more positive anecdotal accounts. Thanks again Beancooker!! ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

Based on all the recent buzz I decided to give CBD another whirl. Someone mentioned that you have to let it build up in your system, so that's what I'm trying. Not getting diarrhea this time, but can't feel it working yet either.

CBD Oils are not created equal. Just like a multi vitamin there is a wide range of formulations to consider, in chemical, natural and organic compositions. Most will choose wrong and Slam the entire product catagory. Like buying a poor brand gun and then believing EVERY gun sucks. Sound silly? It should. _________________________

Well, since this thread bubbled to the top again... A little over three weeks ago I decided to give CBD oil a try. Mainly to see if it would help me sleep, as I'd been having restless nights, recently. I had no expectations it would do anything else for me. Morning #1, after a dropper-full of CBD oil under the tongue the night before, I'm standing there grinding my morning coffee and think "I feel good." Wasn't anything definable--just an overall sense of well being. "Fascinating," I thought, but mostly wrote it off. Next thing I noticed, either that day or within a day or two, was it was no longer painful for me to go up and down the stairs. Then I found I could close my lightest hand-grip exerciser between thumb and forefingers--something I haven't been able to do in months. Finally, I've become somewhat regular for the first time in something like forty years--after having tried every other trick in the book. (I subsequently researched it and found CBD is alleged to mitigate what is thought to be one cause of IBS.) Mind you: I'm not 100% pain free, but I'd say joint and muscle pain and stiffness are significantly lower than they have been. Nor am I every-day-regular, but at least every few days--as opposed to sometimes as long as a week or more. I'm not so sure it's helped me sleep. I still wake up sometimes 1-3 times per night, but it seems I am falling back asleep more easily, most times. So the one thing I'd hoped it would accomplish is questionable, but it has resulted in two things I did not expect. Admittedly, I'd heard it could help with joint pain. So maybe I unconsciously hoped it would help. But the regularity thing I'd never heard of. Could be coincidence. Can hardly be placebo effect when the effects were neither sought nor expected. Snake oil? Maybe. Or maybe, just maybe, it actually can do much of what many people claim it can? After all: I restored my testosterone levels with a supplement largely based on Chrysin. Not once, but twice. Proven in lab tests. I provably shrank my prostate with Saw Palmetto--just ask the doc that examined me before and after. And all of these things using herbal remedies that don't have side-effects that require the use of another drug to offset them, which can, in turn, require Yet Another Drug to offset the side-effects of that drug, which can, in turn, require... and so on and so on. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher
