It would be a great way to slow walk an EMP into the US. If the CCP sent a missile to EMP us, it would obviously be shot down…slow walk one into the US and then set it off where it hurt us the most.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Second_After
In the book One Second After the writer explores how the North Koreans detonated a nuke in the atmosphere to EMP attack the US and how it would affect us. As told in the sleepy town Of Black Mountain NC.

Our “leaders” should have already thought of the worst case scenarios and acted appropriately by shooting it down. Like the boss said. Once it’s on the ground it shouldn’t be hard to figure out what it was up to.

Concur, buuuuuuuutt…………the “politically indifferent” among us are too ignorant to realize they’re politically indifferent. IOW, “they don’t know that they don’t know”; the most dangerous of human being. JMHO, of course…

Meanwhile, at my overnight hotel in Philly, there’s a DNC convention/meeting going on this weekend. I am ab-so-friggin-LUTE-ly suppressing the urge to trot downstairs and yell:

LET’S
GO
BRANDON
FUCK
JOE
BIDEN!

Perhaps you are recalling Japanese actions during WWII, when they sent balloons that reached the western half of the United States.

They sent balloons carrying containers filled with millions upon millons of fleas infected with bubonic plague (or anthrax, I can't recall).

They also managed to kill a half dozen American civilians by dropping a bomb from one of these balloons.

The Japanese balloons that reached the US carried incendiaries.

The dropping of fleas infected with bubonic plague (among other things) occurred in China and was performed using aircraft. This was part of Unit 741's crimes against humanity.

This ChiCom balloon should have been shot down when it entered our air defense zone.

Easy to argue

You would have to power it … And the power source would be identifiable from a distance. We would know.

It is possible to detect a nuclear device from that distance?

Yes. Can tell a lot more than that too. Wink

The Chinese have much more to gain by keeping the United States just as it is politically fucked up in all it's glory rather than to destroy it with a nuke or EMP or anything else.

We might be fucked up but the saying when the United States coughs the world catches a cold still holds true imo. I don't see any gain for any country to turn the U.S. into a post apocalyptic terrain.

Wow. I was not aware of that and I like to think I’m pretty up on my WW2 history; I’m going to read up.

I think what I am looking for is a clip from an episode of Star Trek. I posted in the lair so as not to district from the thread.

I didn’t read through all the posts, but…I assume the question has been asked:

Why is a “Chinese Spy Balloon” still flying over the U.S.?

There is a documentary about Unit 741 on YT. I recommend not eating beforehand.

Your question suggests that you haven't read anything in this thread, nor have you read any online news articles or tuned in to any cable news channel.

I wonder what the socialist regime to our north and their involvement is?

Hell of a lot easier to launch a balloon from Canada into Montana than from Hong Kong.
