How could they lose this? The water is only like 48 feet deep there from what I understand.

Maybe they aren’t really interested in actually finding it…

The payload is Russian disinformation. We've got a letter here signed by 51 current and former douchebags. No wait. All 51 are douchebags. Anyway, these douchebags say, based upon their many years of experience in the douchebag community, they can confirm that the payload is Russian disinformation.

Hey, it worked once before, didn't it?

I worked on systems that protect the country for eleven years and I can not believe they allowed this to happen. We will be paying for this in years to come.

It must be the same crack team of TOP. MEN. that were assigned to investigate Hunter’s laptop and also the mysterious “garage door noose caper” at the Talladega Sppedway.

There is a bit of irony in this new detail. Some complain about frequently being forced to buy products made in China because there are no US manufactured alternatives...and yet the Chinese apparently chose to use Western made parts to build a balloon to spy on us. Wink

China Spy Balloon Had Western-Made Parts With English Writing

February 9, 2023

On Thursday, members of Congress were informed during a private briefing on Capitol Hill that an alleged Chinese spy balloon that crossed the US had components made in the West with English writing on them. The briefing was conducted by officials from the Biden administration, including representatives from the State and Defense Departments and the intelligence community.

According to Bloomberg and confirmed by Fox News, the presence of the Western components were noted, but it was not specified which ones.

It is unclear whether the writing was found prior to the balloon’s shooting down on Saturday or after the recovery of its wreckage, which is still ongoing off the coast of South Carolina.

Neither the National Security Council nor the State and Defense Departments commented on the matter. Meanwhile, the FBI is currently reviewing the debris, but has not yet discovered the balloon’s main payload.

The Biden administration confirmed that US spy planes had captured high-resolution images of the balloon as it crossed the US.

Why is the FBI the ones looking at this? The Air Force intel types have people whose jobs it is to dissect foreign military hardware like this.

If the Chicoms were using Western made parts, it’s only because they couldn’t figure out the tech to counterfeit or copycat it.

Biden DOJ ending national security initiative aimed at countering China amid complaints about bias

The Department of Justice announced Wednesday that it is ending its "China Initiative" program that was aimed at preventing spying by the Chinese Communist Party, and launching a new, "broader approach."

The China Initiative was started in 2018 under the Trump administration to protect U.S. national security against Chinese spying on U.S. intellectual property and in academia. The DOJ website said it was aimed at "identifying and prosecuting those engaged in trade secret theft, hacking, and economic espionage," as well as "protecting our critical infrastructure against external threats through foreign direct investment and supply chain compromises."

That program is coming to an end. In its place, the DOJ is instituting a new "Strategy for Countering Nation-State Threats."

Olsen insisted that the new approach does not mean that the agency is losing sight of the threat China poses.

"Make no mistake, we will be relentless in defending our country from China," Olsen said.

DOJ had been conducting a review of the China Initiative and changes were expected. The DOJ was concerned that the old program stoked anti-Asian bias after receiving input from the Asian American community.

Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Biden administration had been under pressure from activists and faculty at some universities over the effort. They said it was harming U.S. competitiveness in research and disproportionately targeting people based on race.

Protesters stood outside the DOJ last month saying the initiative unfairly targeted Chinese professors, and nearly 200 Yale professors recently signed a letter to Garland asking him to end the initiative.

A former Justice Department official lamented that the U.S. "stopped fighting for the China initiative on Jan 20, 2021," the day President Biden took office.

Oh, it's not a balloon they shot down just now, you see. No, it's an "object" per Kirby.

It's "a" dildo and never "your" dildo. Semantics, you see.

Notice that this time, they shot it down as soon as it entered into our airspace. Gee, Joe, why is that? After all, you told us the last one was harmless and this stuff goes on all the time yadda yadda. Roll Eyes

Oh, the Pentagon is gonna spew at us in a minute. At this point, we don't know who owns the dildo err object.

I'm guessing it's General Milley's.

It's a good thing the farm animals have such a short attention span, distracted by TikTok, Facebook and what have ya. Otherwise, this kind of sensationalist reveal we're getting right now might make them think we're being invaded.

So the Chinese spy balloon shot down last week couldn't be shot down until it crossed the entire continent through Canadian and US airspace and collected whatever data it obtained because it was too risky to shoot it down... but this object is ok to shoot down over Alaska? Right.

What's interesting to me that, if this latest "object" turns out to be from China also, that it takes about a week for a balloon launched from China to cross the Pacific and reach Alaska. Which means that the Chinese had the better part of a week, after the first balloon was shot down, to alter the course of this "object", or even remotely destruct it... but they decided to let it continue on its path anyways, despite knowing about the diplomatic firestorm the last one caused.

Two "accidental" incursions into US airspace in a week? That dog won't hunt.

BREAKING NEWS: General Milley's dildo has been shot down over the waters of Alaska...

That's OK, though. He can always find things to shove up his ass. Any household object will do.

Welcome to Cold War 2.0

While the Defense Dept attempts to wrangle more funding, State Dept better get their cultural experts, linguists and 'verbal judo' experts up to speed.

'It just rang': In crises, US-China hotline goes unanswered
quote:
Within hours of an Air Force F-22 downing a giant Chinese balloon that had crossed the United States, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin reached out to his Chinese counterpart via a special crisis line, aiming for a quick general-to-general talk that could explain things and ease tensions.

But Austin's effort Saturday fell flat, when Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe declined to get on the line, the Pentagon says.

China’s Defense Ministry says it refused the call from Austin after the balloon was shot down because the U.S. had “not created the proper atmosphere” for dialogue and exchange. The U.S. action had “seriously violated international norms and set a pernicious precedent,” a ministry spokesperson was quoted as saying in a statement issued late Thursday.

....

Sometimes when the U.S. calls, current and former U.S. officials say, Chinese officials don’t even pick up.

“No one answered. It just rang,” recounted Kristen Gunness, a senior policy analyst at the Rand Corporation. Gunness was speaking about a March 2009 incident when she was working as an adviser to the Pentagon’s chief of naval operations. Chinese navy vessels at the time surrounded a U.S. surveillance ship in the South China Sea and demanded the American leave. U.S. and Chinese military officials eventually talked - but some 24 hours later.

Wait. How is General Milley supposed to call the Chinese and let them know that President Trump is going to launch an attack if they won't pick up the phone? Roll Eyes

I’d advise everyone stay off recreational hot air balloons or the Goodyear blimp.
