With the great number of GOP backstabbers that spent 4 years running interference against Trump, it's no surprise to the thinking person why the swamp remains.

And DeSantis me be Your Personal Jesus, but he is not who you belive him to be.

He is another self servinf politician, and it is obvious from history, how his administration will play out.

Right now, he has been playing the long game and grooming his voting block, and he is doing a good job.

Yeah, I would rather see him, than anyone else who is running, (except DJT, if he can pull it off) but if he runs, win or loose, Florida Man is likely to have Charlie "Shape Shifter" Crist back in the saddle.

Donald Trump for the Win. The Federal Bureaucrats would be quaking in their boots.

I’d love to see how Trump would handle things when he gets a second term. Trumps the King Maker. I support him and any decision he makes.

Never in my lifetime has anyone fought for me and America like Donald Trump has. America owes him a second chance.

"Draining the swamp" doesn't rid the swamp of its creatures. It removes the murk and EXPOSES the vermin hiding in the brume for all to see. And that's exactly what Trump did...in spades.

For chrissakes, have some freaking gratitude.

I am 100% behind Trump in 2024. I agree with others that he didn’t fully grasp how deep the waters of the swamp were. He was new to politics and DC and underestimated it. He will not make that mistake again.

I think DeSantis would be a great president, and I’ll happily vote for him if he wins the nomination. I’ve been fooled before, but I don’t think he’s a self-serving politician. I think he’s a good man. I don’t think he will go scorched earth though like DJT. I believe he will make a hell of a clean up man in 2028 though.

The good news is that him running for President will not mean Crist will be the Governor of Florida. That race takes place this November, long before anyone will know who the nominee will be for POTUS. If DeSantis decides to leave office in two-ish years. his Lt. Governor will replace him, and that won’t be Crist.

Trump is the greatest POTUS in my lifetime. And he has another term coming to him.

I'm looking forward to a Trump/DeSantis ticket in 2024 Wink

Wouldn't be a bad move. VP for 4, then presumptive candidate for 2028-2036. He is still young enough for long term planning.

True but I feel he believes he can do more as Florida's governor if Trump becomes President again. Then after Trump he could run for President.

Federal Judge Hands Trump Huge Win over Merrick Garland, Orders Appointment of Special Master

https://slaynews.com/news/fede...oint-special-master/

A federal judge has just handed President Donald Trump a huge win over Joe Biden’s Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland by ordering a special master to review documents seized by the FBI.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon approved the request by Trump’s legal team and issued a preliminary order intending to appoint a special master to review the documents seized during the FBI’s search of the 45th president’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The Trump-appointed judge wrote: “THIS CAUSE comes before the Court upon Plaintiff’s Motion for Judicial Oversight and Additional Relief [ECF No. 1] and Supplemental Filing [ECF No. 28].

“Upon review of Plaintiff’s submissions and the exceptional circumstances presented, and subject to an opportunity to be heard as indicated below, it is ORDERED AND ADJUDGED as follows:

“Pursuant to Rule 53(b)(1) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Court’s inherent authority, and without prejudice to the parties’ objections, the Court hereby provides notice of its preliminary intent to appoint a special master in this case.

“A hearing on the Motion is scheduled for September 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.

“The hearing shall be conducted at the Paul G. Rogers U.S. Courthouse, 701 Clematis Street, Courtroom 1, West Palm Beach Florida, Florida 33401.

“The parties shall adhere to the following instructions:

“On or before August 30, 2022, Defendant shall publicly file a Response to the Motion and Supplement, including Plaintiff’s request for the appointment of a special master.

“In addition to the Response, on or before August 30, 2022, Defendant shall file under seal the following materials:

“A more detailed Receipt for Property specifying all property seized pursuant to the search warrant executed on August 8, 2022.

“A particularized notice indicating the status of Defendant’s review of the seized property, including any filter review conducted by the privilege review team and any dissemination of materials beyond the privilege review team.

“Plaintiff shall file a Reply to Defendant’s Response on or before August 31, 2022, at 8:00 p.m.

“In accordance with Rule 53, the parties are advised to include in their filings their respective and particularized positions on the duties and responsibilities of a prospective special master, along with any other considerations pertinent to the appointment of a special master in this case.

“This Order should not be construed as a final determination on Plaintiff’s Motion. DONE AND ORDERED in Chambers at Fort Pierce, Florida this 27th day of August 2022,” the order said.

This is not a loss because it’s not a dismissal. It kicks the can further down the road two or three days. To characterize it as a win is premature. The judge’s own words: “This order should not be construed as a final determination on Plaintiff’s Motion.” YMMV.

I wish we had a "like" button here because if we did I would give Oddball's post a big "like" for his post. IMHO Donald Trump deserves at least one more term in the WH if only for the way The Swamp has treated him. More importantly, America deserves Trump for at least one more term. Some of us anyway.

Well almost all of us believe that the raid was to prevent/hinder Trump from running for President again or to cover up Russia Gate....or both.

It is amazing that these "classified" documents were not leaked the whole time they were at Mar-A-Lago yet they are now leaking daily from the Just Us Department and FBI.

For those who think Trump should go away, ask yourselves, why is the Left so desperate to be rid of him and why are rinos aligning with the lying, bigoted, racist, exploitative, destructive Left.

Two things -

- Vice presidents have been such nothings over the past couple of decades that it's not really a particularly strong position to run from. Trump delegates, but being Trump's Veep wouldn't really showcase anyone's strengths nationally.

- Being a Governor does showcase one's strengths, and DeSantis has demonstrated the ability to piss of Democrats (who will keep him in the MSM news) nationally as a Governor.

Yes, but the more that happens, the more that undermines any putative "case" against Trump. I would expect that, even as we speak, some donkey somewhere is bitching to another donkey that "right wing insiders and racists" in the FBI must be responsible for the leaks.

Then there's the whole electoral votes issue...
quote:
There are many misconceptions about the rules of a president choosing their running mate. There’s no law or regulation against a president and vice president of the United States being from the same state. The reason why some people mistakenly believe such a prohibition exists comes down to a particular aspect of the Electoral College system laid out in Article II of the U.S. Constitution.

Article II states: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.”

Under the original system, electors did not distinguish between candidates for the nation’s top two offices; the candidate with the most votes became president, while the runner-up became vice president. The 12th Amendment, adopted in 1804 after two chaotic elections, mandated that electors cast separate ballots for president and vice president. However, the rule preventing an elector from voting for two people from his home state remained in effect under the new system.

In most elections, this quirk in the system wouldn’t even matter. In 2008, Barack Obama could have chosen a running mate from his home state of Illinois in either 2008 or 2012 with no adverse effect; the same goes for Ronald Reagan in 1980 or ’84, George H.W. Bush in 1988 and Bill Clinton in 1992 or ‘96.

But if an election turns out to be particularly close, the rule could potentially come into play. It almost did in the notoriously contentious election of 2000. When Texas Gov. George W. Bush chose Dick Cheney as his running mate on the Republican ticket, Cheney had been living and voting and paying taxes for five years in Texas. Shortly before the election, however, Cheney obtained a Wyoming driver’s license and put his Dallas home on the market. (He had a vacation home in Wyoming, which is the state he had formerly represented in the U.S. Congress.) Good thing for him he did: The Bush-Cheney ticket ended up winning with 271 electoral votes—just a slim five-vote margin—over Al Gore and Joe Lieberman, a total they certainly wouldn’t have hit without Texas’ 32 votes.

America 101: Can the president and vice president be from the same state?

FBI special agent who opened Trump investigation reportedly escorted out of Bureau headquarters

"Mr. Thibault was seen exiting the bureau’s elevator last Friday escorted by two or three "headquarters-looking types.'"

https://justthenews.com/govern..._campaign=newsletter

Former Washington Field Office Special Agent in Charge Tim Thibault was reportedly escorted out of the Bureau's headquarters on Friday, amid whistleblower allegations that he showed political bias in his handling of politically sensitive investigations.

The Washington Times reported eyewitness accounts that "Mr. Thibault was seen exiting the bureau’s elevator last Friday escorted by two or three 'headquarters-looking types.'"

Whistleblowers alleged that Thibault concealed the partisan nature of evidence from FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland to secure their approval to open an investigation into former President Donald Trump. That investigation culminated in the FBI's raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate earlier this month.

The public release of the affidavit that accompanied the search warrant revealed the warrant application relied heavily on information from news articles, including a CBS Miami piece titled "Moving Trucks Spotted At Mar-a-Lago" and a Breitbart News article in which former Trump adviser Kash Patel discussed the classified status of documents the bureau previously removed from the estate on behalf of the National Archives.

Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley confirmed to Just the News prior to the raid that Thibault had been removed from his post and reassigned to an unspecified position.
