Nope. The media and lefties never liked him, they using the situation to 'appear' like they actually gave a shit, and to appear as the centrists 'they think' they are.

Ain't buying it. McCain tried to play centrist but, became unrecognizable to conservatives and unwittingly became a pawn to the left. The press is playing up his nickname as the Maverick; he was so because he was that kid who had no friends on the playground. Occasionally he got to eat with others in the cafeteria but, he was largely on his own, unaware and in his own world. For all the good he did in the Navy, he gave it away in his political career.
