I think it has become politically correct to praise him and declare him a hero. Look how awesome I am. I'm praising McCain....

Yep. And I think that bleeds over to the other forums because nobody wants to offend and be the dick that criticizes a veteran.

Nope. The media and lefties never liked him, they using the situation to 'appear' like they actually gave a shit, and to appear as the centrists 'they think' they are.

See, we listen to the other side, we mourn and show reverence when one of 'yours' passes

Ain't buying it. McCain tried to play centrist but, became unrecognizable to conservatives and unwittingly became a pawn to the left. The press is playing up his nickname as the Maverick; he was so because he was that kid who had no friends on the playground. Occasionally he got to eat with others in the cafeteria but, he was largely on his own, unaware and in his own world. For all the good he did in the Navy, he gave it away in his political career.

It is also a back-handed way of discrediting Trump. As usual McCain is only useful as a weapon against the righteous, the free and the innocent.

This is the reason for many of the problems we are experiencing in this Country. The culture of a large portion of the world is going to ridiculous extremes to make this happen. Truth, freedom, faith, and morality are the ultimate victims in this crusade, and that is not an accident. That is the ultimate goal by the author of all of this.

See Isaiah 5:20

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Had to laugh about all those liberals whining when Trump made the comment about him during the election. I'll give McCain a lot of respect for surviving five years in a pow camp. No small feat.

But the Democrats were outraged by the comment. Yet when he ran against Obama in 2008, what was their comment??

quote:
On Sunday's Face the Nation, Obama supporter retired Gen. Wesley Clark, remarkably, went there: "I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president." (Full context here.) So did liberal blogger John Aravosis, writing that "[g]etting shot down, tortured, and then doing propaganda for the enemy is not command experience." On Monday, former Obama adviser Rand Beers argued that McCain's isolation as a POW limited his insight on national security issues.

McCain's camp has experience fielding potshots at his military career. Back in April, Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., essentially denounced McCain for being a fighter pilot: "What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn't know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues." McCain took public offense; Rockefeller apologized. Earlier this month, Gore Vidal questioned McCain's war record in a New York Times Magazine interview: "Who started this rumor that he was a war hero? Where does that come from, aside from himself? About his suffering in the prison war camp?" The McCain camp declined to respond, presumably noting the "only a crank argues with a crank" rule.

No, I think it's the media just trying to create a story to make Trump look bad for not honoring him. All the while Trump is taking care of business in Mexico and the stock market is over 26,000.

That's it, exactly. The Dems and the MSM don't give a damn about McCain.

Their energy and focus is on spinning every story into a negative for President Trump.
Even if they have to pretend to like and respect someone that they never have, in order to do it. Phony doesn't begin to describe these assholes.

If Trump never really liked McCain, that's ok with me. He's entitled to his opinion.

McCain gave the Steele dossier to Comey and "Anyone who doesn't like it can go to Hell". Even with such a scintilla of a setting, it seems quite reasonable for President Trump to have not really liked McCain.

Problem is that I know the answer to this question, but many others don't. I once asked a liberal family member several years ago why he considers McCain to be a "statesman". The cliches came rolling out of his mouth "oh, McCain reached across the aisle, he was a maverick in the Republican Party, yada, yada". In other words, he did NOTHING.
