I respected McCain's service but as a politician he was divisive and enjoyed the chaos he caused, and in the final years, he was little more than a bitter, Trump bashing Dem. I'm sorry for his family but wish he left politics years ago as he's added nothing to it and only betrayed those that voted for him. Luctor et Emergo

Not necessarily....I believe parts of the Naval academy are accessible to civilians although I wouldn't advise you try to take a leak on McCain's grave.

What I find amazing is all the horrific things people call Trump ie, Hitler, worse than ISIS, a racist, etc and its OK but when Trump makes a remark about McCain its an outrage. McCain was a shallow self centered and insecure man otherwise he wouldn't have allowed Trump's remark to cause him to vote against the will of the Americans that put him in office. Plus I believe McCain's hatred of President Trump goes much deeper than one off the cuff remark.

McCain pimped the discredited steele dossier. He wasn't smart enough to realize he was being used Or he wanted to be used. His service to his country became service to himself. ____________________________________________________ The butcher with the sharpest knife has the warmest heart.

Why even bother addressing DonDraper's silly comment? What chance do you think you have of reasoning with someone who thinks like that? Pointless. Just let him live in his own world. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

Hitler was Present at the First Battle of the Ypres, and the battles of Arras, Passchendaele, and Somme. He was wounded at Somme and received the Black Wound Badge in 1918. He received the Iron Cross 2nd class in 1914, and the Iron Cross 1st class in 1918. For all intents and purposes Adolph Hitler was a war hero. I'm not saying McCain was comparable to Hitler. I'm saying they were both douchebags who ruined what good they ever did with later, self-serving, stupidity. I have the heart of a lion.......and a lifetime ban from the Toronto Zoo.- Unknown

Flags at White House back at full staff after McCain's death https://www.yahoo.com/news/fla...55395--politics.html The flags at the White House, which were lowered over the weekend to mark the death of Sen. John McCain, are back at full-staff. The flags at the U.S. Capitol, meanwhile, remained at half-staff on Monday to honor the Arizona Republican, who died Saturday of brain cancer. President Donald Trump offered his condolences on Twitter to McCain's family but hasn't issued a presidential proclamation with an order lowering the flags. The two had a long-running feud. U.S. Flag Code states that flags be lowered "on the day of death and the following day for a Member of Congress." After Democratic Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts died in 2009, President Barack Obama ordered flags at the White House be flown at half-staff for five days. The White House didn't immediately respond to questions Monday. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed. There is no question for the White House to answer as they followed established protocol. Obama's virtue signalling in 2009 should have come into question. (Not directed at you Bigboreshooter as I believe we are on the same page).

Anything you still needed to know was shown by him making specific moves to exclude the President from any service. Speaking of total dick moves. You only have integrity once. - imprezaguy02

He gets the last laugh by default because 1) he was actually elected President and 2) he's still here serving while former Senator McCain has moved on.

Heard that Gov will wait until after the funeral to appoint a replacement. It will also be after his primary. Money is on his daughter.

Is that daughter by first wife or second? Is the first wife invited to the funeral? Officers lives matter!

How ironic The longtime Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who passed away Saturday at age 81, died from the same cancer as his colleague, Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), did nine years ago. The late Arizona senator died at the age of 81 of an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma on August 25, 2018—nine years after Kennedy died of the same cancer on August 25, 2009, at the age of 77. https://www.breitbart.com/big-...ancer-9-years-apart/

It's sad when you have so much hate in your heart for one individual that you make plans to exclude the President from attending your funeral especially considering you're getting ready to met your maker. The Bible instructs us to forgive others if we want God to forgive us.

I knew a bit about McCain, but not a lot. So like everyone I took a trip down Wikipedia lane and was a bit surprised. Apparently, as Naval Aviators go, he wasn't the greatest. At the Navy Academy He came into conflict with higher-ranking personnel and did not always obey the rules, which contributed to a low class rank (894 of 899), despite a high IQ. McCain graduated in 1958 His early aviation career in A-1 Skyraiders McCain began as a sub-par flier who was at times careless and reckless; during the early to mid-1960s, two of his flight missions crashed and a third mission collided with power lines, but he received no major injuries. His aviation skills improved over time, and he was seen as a good pilot, albeit one who tended to "push the envelope" in his flying He then managed to get shot down McCain's capture and subsequent imprisonment occurred on October 26, 1967. He was flying his 23rd bombing mission over North Vietnam when his A-4E Skyhawk was shot down by a missile over Hanoi. McCain fractured both arms and a leg when he ejected from the aircraft, and nearly drowned after he parachuted into Trúc Bạch Lake. Some North Vietnamese pulled him ashore, then others crushed his shoulder with a rifle butt and bayoneted him. McCain was then transported to Hanoi's main Hỏa Lò Prison, nicknamed the "Hanoi Hilton". It appears that in captivity he suffered tremendous abuse and torture for refusing to cooperate. When he returned he met another woman while still married and... In April 1979, McCain met Cindy Lou Hensley, a teacher from Phoenix, Arizona, whose father had founded a large beer distributorship. They began dating, and he urged his wife Carol to grant him a divorce, which she did in February 1980; the uncontested divorce took effect in April 1980. The settlement included two houses, and financial support for her ongoing medical treatments due to her 1969 car accident; they would remain on good terms I believe Gregory "Pappy" Boyington once said "show me a hero and I'll show you a bum". Blast from the past: According to a recent Hillary interview, she and McCain were drinking buddies on travel junkets. When leftist commies are the ones sharing praise and accolades of McCain, you know the guy was cut from the same cloth.
