I'm sad to hear this news. I always enjoyed his animal adoption posts. IIRC correctly, there was at least one relay to get a dog to an out of state member by the good folks here.

Rest well Vero. You will be missed for your kindness and caring.

Sorry to hear this. I remembered the picture of James and his family many years ago. Feels like yesterday.

Like so many of us here, I knew Vero8 only through his posts and his reputation, but his death feels like a knife in the heart. Partly because of his influence, my GF and I adopted from shelters rather than continuing to breed for show some years back. We adopted again just a month ago, just weeks after losing two shelter cats just weeks apart, a really great snowshoe Siamese.

I think I will make a donation in memory of Vero8 to the shelter we got Keone from.

I never personally interacted with him but his love of animals and the tone of his posts showed his amazing character. It’s hard not to be sad at the passing of such a person. Let’s celebrate his life, legacy and the light he brought to an increasingly dark world. Rest easy sir, you’ve earned it.

I’m really sorry to hear about this. Surely a fine man and friend to those whose lives he touched. And thus, by extension, to all of us.

Godspeed brother.

I just knew the Man from what, and how he posted here on SigForum.
He seemed like such a genuine, down to earth, and all around great person.

We are at a loss without him.

Wow... that took me off guard. I'm pretty sure he was one of the first people that welcomed me here and I recall him being pretty active then. He was on my short list of people to meet if I ever got to the Atlanta area with enough time to do a quick meet & greet.

Just like all of the regulars and long term members here, a solid, salt of the earth, great guy.

I don’t recall his posts or pictures but if the forum members said he was a good man, that’s good enough for me.
RIP Vero8. Godspeed.

Sad news. He seemed like a genuinely decent man who enjoyed life and took the good with the bad without complaint. I was first attracted to his posts when he expressed his fondness for Kahr K9’s, an affinity which I shared.

Condolences to his family.

I am sad to hear this. I never managed to make it up to a GA shoot and meet him, but he always seemed like one of the people i would really have liked to have met. Prayers sent for him and his survivors.

When we are young we can't wait for time to pass. As we age time seems to go by faster. We find more friends and loved ones gone. While I never knew him, he was truly loved and will be missed by many. May you rest in peace. Now you are with HIM!

I am really saddened that he has left us. He was always a gentle soul kind of guy. My interactions with him were limited to here and I really regret that as he didn't live far. Godspeed Vero8
