And why is it called the foul pole? If the ball hits the pole, it's a fair ball.

My first thought was "who gives a shit?" Pribably more than half the starters are non-white.

2nd, doesn't Dusty run/have say in the roster? He could put whoever on the field?

3rd, don't weaken the team for diversity points, put the best guys on the field.

So many media people were saying they were rooting for Dusty to win as a black man. The guy had multiple opportunities in the past and blew it. Yeah, I'm a Phillies fan, so I hope he blows this one as well, but it's tiring. It's not enough people of color are on both teams they have to be US black athletes. It's asinine.

IMO, Dusty lost game seven in '02 by mismanaging the pitching. Something I feel he's prone to do, too often.

If he'd have run Kirk Rueter out there instead of Livan Hernandez, I figure my boys had a much better chance of winning it all.

I may be wrong, but I'll go to my grave believing it.

FFS. Philly fans throw rocks at Astros bus and break a window on the bus, but all Fox News reports is Verlander giving them the finger.

Astros' Justin Verlander makes obscene gesture to Phillies fans heading into Citizens Bank Park
Verlander did it not once but twice as fans laughed it off before Game 3 was postponed

Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander flipped the bird to Phillies fans who watched as the Houston Astros bus arrived at Citizens Bank Park prior to Game 3 of the World Series on Monday.

As the bus began to back into its parking space, one fan caught Verlander through the window of the bus, where he made the obscene gesture toward the fans with a smile.

But he wasn’t done. When Verlander exited the bus, Phillies fans called to him where he did it again. However, it didn’t sound like many were too offended as they laughed it off.

Like I said earlier in this thread, Dusty doesn't manage pitching well. McCullers has been grooving pitches & Dusty's just watching him.

Oh yeah, 2-1 baby. Looking forward to tomorrow night's contest.

Come Thurs, it will be a split screen evening between Fox29 and AMZ (Eagles vs Texans).

+1

Local Houston Fox station had zero Astros highlights to show. Pretty much says it all.

I'd expect an Astros fan in Philly to be treated like a Philly fan in Houston.
Can't say I heard any heckling/bad behavior at Phillies fans in the juice box.

Same thing in NY, much different fan behavior to Houston.

Also, Mack will be fine no matter the outcome of the series. He placed a big bet to hedge the massive promotion he runs for the game, so he's making a profit either way.
Astros win, big wager payoff.
Phillies win, doesn't refund all the furniture sales from the promo.

this is a "bring on the meteor" series for me, but I will say I've come around to the idea of my NL East brethr-, eh, maybe distant cousins, the Phillies, sending the Astros back home with an empty* trophy case.
