Gluhwein. Warm, delicious, cheap.

An old fashioned with a fresh squeezed orange and Makers Mark bourbon.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Just filed my taxes, but I have two weeks yet before the $5600 check has to be in the mail to them...I need a beer. Two cans of Oslo Brewing Co. Nordic Pilsner is the only stuff here. Something new for me.

Sad day for bourbon afficianodos, best run to the store and buy up all the Buffalo Trace you can, the Kentucky River is way up and completely flooded out the distillery, everything is under water.

^^That's got to be a hard hit to the local economy. Going to have a wee snort of Glenfiddich
12 y.o. later, as Winter has returned here for the next several days.

I had a taste of Buffalo Trace bourbon just last Sunday. This bourbon is hard enough to find in my part of the Country under normal conditions......don't know what to expect now.
