Cheap chardonnay from the bargain shelf at Aldi. Opened the bottle to use some to cook with. Well, as long as the bottle is open anyway ...

I was with you in Islay spirit last night. Been on a Kilchoman kick lately. Last night was the 2023 Loch Gorm.

1792 Full Proof, 125 Proof, neat.

Very surprised it being 125 Proof and almost no bite.
My wife and I both like it.

Happy hour on this Christmas Day will feature a 1792 small batch bourbon.....or two. That one is hard to beat in my way of thinking.

Christmas Day in my family has always been Brandies Alexander, 1/3 cream, 1/3 Creme de Cacao, and 1/3 Brandy blended with crushed ice, and topped with fresh-grated nutmeg. No need to go VSOP like a sipping Brandy, the flavors meld.

Christmas dinner was preceded by a drink whose name I do not know -- muddled raspberries, topped with plentiful ice, and with Prosecco poured in over the ice.

Dinner itself was accompanied by a 2019 Burgo Viejo, chilled slightly by having been left outdoors overnight.

Both were delicious.

God bless America.

Is it just me or does all Christmas beer taste like allspice?

I know some of yall order cases of it, but I find it to be a bit of a punch to the back of my throat. I can eat a gingerbread cookie with a Busch if I want that flavor Big Grin
