I’ve been working a lot, now off a few days. This afternoon I picked up my Howa Ultralight in 6.5 Creedmoor. On top of all that, it’s New Year’s Eve. My palette for high end drinks is still under development, though I’m am making strides. I mixed a vodka drink, cranberry & berry juice with a touch of lemon juice, I like them strong. | |||

Last New Year's my wife and I were in Marina del Rey near LA to help one of our daughters with a medical appointment. We stayed at the Homewood Suites, which had an AMAZING bar on the water. I saw a bottle of silver tequila and asked for a "shot". The bartender poured it and said it was sipping tequila. It was amazing. Casa Dragones Joven "sipping tequila". I got the bill and it was $85! I told her they were quite proud of that tequila, so she poured me half a shot on the house. I got home and bought a bottle (about $300 for 750ml). It's fine tequila....but I don't drink it often - I still have over half left. Anyway, that's what was in my glass last night. Yeah, I'm an idiot to spend that much..... | |||

The Lovely Girlfriend bought me a bottle of Booker’s last week; we opened it up last night. It’s a little hot, I think, but I’ve learned that just a splash of water added makes a world of difference in the smoothness. This is a “special event bottle,” for sure, but it’s mighty good.
