I had me a snort of Flor de Cana to go along with watching Booze Traveler on Travel Channel. The rum was the closest thing I had on hand to go along with an episode in Austria that had lots o' schnapps.

First two nights I merely liked. Chalked it up to "acceptable" on the list. Tonight I've really come to appreciate its character. Proof that you can't pass judgment on just one or even two tries. I think I'll have a bit more tonight. Tasty. Smile

At my in-laws, we always tend to have an apéritif before dinner. My father in-law knows I like Scotch, so he went out and bought a bottle of this for me. 41 euros. I gotta say, this stuff was pretty damn good. Served neat of course. I considered stealing the bottle and smuggling it out of France, but instead decided to leave it for the next time. Wink

Picked this up today, apparently the owner of the liquor store and his son picked the barrel themselves and have every bottle that came from it for sale. ($25 too, good price). They even had the barrel in the store.


Kinda neat.

Edit: Holy shit this is good.

Excellent choice, that's one of my favorites. I've got a bottle of their 21 year that I haven't tried yet but will probably open on Christmas, but I've been nursing a bottle of the 18 year for a few months now and I like it almost as much as my beloved Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or.

Last night I picked up a bottle of Lismore 15 year single malt Scotch at the liquor store. I hadn't seen it before and it looked very understated and interesting so I figured what the heck. It was very good and at $45 an outstanding bargain.
