Integra Type R prices have gotten mental lately. I don’t really care for the looks of the sedan. Yeah it’s more practical if you have kids but if I was going to get a fun 4 door import I’d rather go with an IS300/Altezza.

RR, I’m definitely thinking about it. I found a IS300 SportTrack locally and they are RARE so I am looking at some interesting options.

IS300 SportCross?
I really like them, just wish they'd offered it with a manual. Same with the TSX Wagon.
My aunt had a 03-04 IS300 Sedan with the manual, it was a blast. I looked for one recently [Autotrader] & only came up with 3 or 4 available nationwide.

Yeah, that gen IS is getting pretty old, very few that are in good shape that aren't automatics.
The SportCross are even fewer on the road, at least around here.

Yeah, it's a non-turbo 2JZ, and supposedly not a hard conversion to a manual, and probably even easier to go to a Supra turbo setup.

My aunt had a Celica before the IS & she always wanted a Supra. She was pretty pleased when I told her that her IS was effectively a 4-door non-turbo Supra.

I had an Infiniti J30 in college, similar deal, like a luxo non-turbo 300ZX sedan with an automatic.

My wife is the same. Wagons & Minivans are a no-go for her. She'd rather walk.

Grail wagon for me would be a E63 Mercedes with the 4.0 TTV8.
That or a W123 (80s) 300TD/300TE & swap in a C36 or C32 AMG drivetrain

Well, if you are going to redo the dash, what about going fully programable.

Haltech, or similar, fully digital dash, programable, you can hook up all kinds of data signals, have all kinds of information, just need to modify the dash pod and install it.

I will, thanks!

VinWiki did a story on the sourcing of the F&F cars. Also an interesting watch, especially when it came to the R34s.

My parents bought a 1988 Honda Prelude SI brand new. That 5 speed manual was so easy to drive and the car was so smooth. Just a very enjoyable drive on scenic hilly backroads. Always wondered how the last generation compared.

My"other brother" has some serious Toyota loyalty, being now on his 6th 4Runner and having had (I think) three Supras. One of the Supras was a '95 Turbo that he and a friend of his sold back and forth several times. I got to drive that one a few times. Holy smokes, compared to the Mazda I owned at the time that '95 was a monster -- all the torque of a tractor and all the speed of a rocket. I had to take him to/from the hospital once, and we used his car. Coming home, cruising along at about 50, I was a happy as a clam just enjoying that car. Taking a two-second break from his pain, he poked me in the arm and said, "you can shift now." I'd forgotten I only had the car in 3rd gear! Big Grin

I've always been a little dorky about wagons. I've had an old boxy Volvo (245) and driven a handful of Subaru wagons.
I told The Lovely Girlfriend that I'd like to find a CTS-V wagon. Her response: "ewww." Razz
(She's got a reference point, though, having had a CTS-V a while back.)

One of the ladies at work is married to a huge Mopar fan. She had a Dodge Magnum a while back. I wondered a) if I could get it when she sold it and b) when her husband would swap a big ol' Hemi into it. Neither happened.

I thought the IS300 SportCross was way cool when it arrived. As for Honda goods: a friend in high school had an '86 CRX Si his dad bought for him. If that wasn't enough fun, his dad turned around and bought a Prelude of about the same year. Both had the 5-speed, and both were a blast to drive.

God bless America.

Working for a Honda dealer in college had its perks.
Even if only in the parking lot, got some seat time in some neat ones.

Original owner CVCC 1st generation Civic
Got to get a 1G 5MT NSX around the block
Tons of brand new S2ks
V6 6MT Accords were surprisingly quick & pretty rare
Only had a couple EM1 Civic Si come through, they were hot to steal same as the DC2 Integras, at the time

I had an EK Coupe, all stock & on Honda Fit steelies, it still handled well enough that I was never bored. I did have F & R strut tower braces.

Took it to Autocross a few times & enjoyed beating kids in 'better' cars than mine.

Briefly had a JDM EK Hatch with the B16 in it & it was a blast, but I didn't push it too hard, since it wasn't my car. Loaned for a weekend from a buddy from his JDM fleet (EK SiR, 2 Preludes & a R33 GTR)

I'd expect an EG to be a lot lighter, but probably harder to find one that hasn't been thrashed.
I'd look for an EK CX Hatch if you want something to build up, will be a bit simpler than a DX & lighter. I think some even didn't have AC, no power steering, manual windows, no rear wiper.

You might have just a bit of reverse rake. But the front arch also looks to be a little bigger.
Maybe just up a hair in the back.

I did similar on the midget. Cut the muffler off and left the resonator. And it's maybe just a little too loud, But not any louder than the average Mustang or Harley. So I don't worry about bothering the neighbors too much.

How TF did they cobble together a 4dr hatch?
Guessing it started life as a sedan & the HB rear end scabbed on?

Looks decently done form those shots. Is that a H22 turbo under the hood?

Grats on the project car.

You owned the finest FWD car EVER produced.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

I had a lowly '99 Civic SI(B16!!!) met the same fate in the second year of ownership.

God damn it.

I know it’s not good for the axles and clutch but it blows my mind how this car will chirp the tires all the way to 4th when it’s high in the revs.

Only did it once, gapped a V6 auto Mustang (early SN95) by about a buslength, in my 5spd vtec D16 Razz
He started it & I was right at the prime spot in the revs to get a good jump.

Mine would chirp 2nd if you shirmfted pretty aggressively, at the limiter, but I was also on skinny Honda Fit steelies.

I scooped up a Type R spoiler from the guy I got the Integra from today.

One thing I learned from my motorcycle acquisition experience is to always stay on good terms with your local enthusiasts.

We hung out a bit and he showed me some very cool projects he has in the works such as a Mitsubishi Evo MR and a Turbo GSR with the exhaust coming out of the hood. Eek

What really caught my eye however and made me pull out my phone to take a few pics was this.

His friend rolled this poor Integra twice and walked away from the crash. Both airbags were disabled too! Eek

RIP two door Integra. Frown

I thought the car looked familiar. I don’t have a photographic memory but I remember cars pretty well. I went back to the original WTS/WTT listing for my car. I found a pic of this car on the interstate along side my GSR back when my ride had different wheels.

Bummer to see the smashed Teg.
Which gen Evo? Never was a big fan of the Evo X, but the 8 & 9 were a blast.

Bueno, would love to have one.
Took a few test drives in college. Always preferred the Evo to the STI up to the Evo 9.
