Some red CTR/ITR Recaros would be sweet, but pricey.
I always preferred the 4-eyed front to the JDM rectangle lights.

And, if you get bored. K20 swap Cool
Or, if you want to go deep, RWD F20C

I had a 91 accord and that Integra was like a wet dream. Great car, have a blast with it.
You damn near can't break it!

I had a 93 Accord SE Sedan. Fun for a boxy, bigger car, even though it was an auto.
An H22 in a CB7 makes for a fun ride.
Wouldn't mind a 5MT H22 CB7 wagon

I see the large exhaust pipe. What's been done to it?

It has a few modifications. This is the laundry list of things the previous owner did to it. The guy had multiple Integras including a turbo GS-R and even an Evo 8 in his driveway so he seemed fairly familiar with Acuras and imports.

“Motor has been gone over I just put on new gates timing belt, water pump, and tensioner, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, head gasket, head studs, new clutch with less then 200 miles on it. I have all stock parts for the car as well. But as of now has skunk2 big tube header with a 2.5 inch exhaust. No check engine light. Runs amazing ! Just put on new ball joints, Megan racing adjustable front camber arms, was tan interior I converted everything over to black. Has black leather seats.”

Did he elaborate on any of those engine mods, or what he meant by 'the motor has been gone over'? Did you get any receipts? That list looks mostly like typical maintenance items, though the head gasket and head studs jump out. I assume those motors don't come w/ Head Studs from the factory, so why the upgrade; Blown head gasket, warped cylinder head? From what you've posted, it looks like the extent of the mods are a header/exhaust, an aftermarket valve/cam cover and upgraded spark plug wires. Unless there's a K&N filter (or something similar) lurking inside the airbox, it doesn't even appear to have any mods to the intake side of the engine. You'd think the header/exhaust would warrant changes on the intake side to take advantage of the additional exhaust flow potential would you not?

Regarding the suspension, it's obviously lowered, but he only mentioned ball joints, and adjustable front camber arms. Does it have lowering springs or coilovers? The stance is slightly raked and honestly, it looks good that way. Unless it's bottoming out or the tires are rubbing the fenders/wheel wells, I wouldn't change it.

We need more details...Inquiring minds/gearheads want to know... Razz

I only ask about the mods because it's in my nature as a pure blooded gearhead. Cool Honestly though, when I see 'motor has been gone over', I'm thinking either they don't know what they're talking about, or they're hiding something. How many miles are on it? These cars are outside my area of expertise, but I assume these engines are not typically known to blow head gaskets, correct? I guess it's possible the timing belt broke, resulting in some bent valves, which 'may' mean the head was replaced. Of course he could've had bigger plans for the engine/car, but then got the Turbo GS-R and decided he had one too many Integras at that point.

Anyway, keep us posted...I assume we should we expect this to be a build thread going forward, right? Wink

Awesome! I purchased a brand new 1998 Acura Integra Type R when I graduated college. Absolutely loved that car. Championship white with white wheels. Just under 200HP and a blast to drive. It was stolen and stripped a couple years later. I have looked to buy another but prices are crazy. Maybe I will take your route and get the GSR instead.

Grats on the project car.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I did an in-car engine rebuild on mine. Was burning oil and replaced the valve seals which didn't help. Driving one day before I could dig into it again I heard a bad noise from the engine. Was still running just reduced power. I was happy it was still running considering these are interference engines.

Got it home and did a compression test. Cyclider closest to the passenger side(can't remember how these were numbered) wouldn't hold any pressure. That plug was fouled and the one next to it wasn't great. When I finally pulled things apart one of the valves for that cylinder was missing a piece. What I think happened was the rings were letting oil bypass, which fouled the plug and valves and the valve couldn't close 100% and got hit by the piston. Again lucky I didn't do more damage. The piston was fine. Ended up replacing the intake/exhaust valves on two cylinders and all the piston rings. Still don't know what caused the rings to bypass oil since the engine was stock and just under 100,000 miles. I did drive it hard but all maintenance was always done.

People did some dumb mods on these cars. I think some people thought the louder it was and the larger the exhaust tip the faster it was.

If your brakes are stock and standard pads I suggest you make an upgrade if you want to push this car. Mine had a bad brake fade after just a few times hard braking from high speeds.....

Good pads will make a huge difference and you don't have to replace everything. I really liked Hawk HPS pads. They grip better when they get hot and will work for everything short of truly tracking the car.

Very cool. My 2002 Civic Si (k20, EP3) salutes you, even with a rethreaded spark plug in No. 1.

I have 195K on mine and it is a blast, I've enjoyed it as a daily driver for nearly 15 years. However, I just bought a low mileage 2001 911 (C2, 996, 6sp) and I find the Civic.....lacking. Oh well.

Red TypeR Recaros, for sure! Looks good in the above photo.

Not sure if Championship White wheels would work with the green, but the saw blades look good on there.

Enkei RPF1 would probably be my first non OE choice. Strong & light.
I'm partial to BBS too, but they're pricey.

An FC would be my RX7 of choice.
When I was building the Lotus, it was either getting a non-turbo FC, or a 4 port Renesis engine.
Fun cars, and the FC chassis is very balanced, holds a slide really well & tamely.

A 13B would be a fun swap for the Midget down the line, but it's a heavy keg, would need to compare long block weights between it & the 1500.
And, the Midget has a tiny trans tunnel.

IMO the 1990 era Integras (and for that matter Honda Accords) were the best looking generation.

I remember telling a brother-in-law how much better the '86 LS was than the old 1970 BMW 2002 that was my first new car:
DOHC, V-Tec, fuel injection, electronic ignition; and it was a Honda so didn't have to return it to dealer several times in first few months to fix stuff.
