Say the leftists scuttle the nominee and they only get 49 votes. And then the republicans gain 3-4 seats in the senate. Could they just bring the nominee back and vote again?

They need a majority to scuttle the nominee. They don't have it unless some R's defect. That seems unlikely.

But yes. A person could be re-nominated.

Somehow that does not strike me as something Sen. Hatch would indulge in. Ze is too much of a traditionalist. Why change now?

Hatch may be a traditionalist, but I bet his press attache is 34 years old.

Sorry it won't be Amy Coney Barrett. Sooner or later, yes. For now, she can do some good, where she is.

I'm getting all twitterpated, waiting for the announcement.
Do eeeeeeet!

Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams
