Your Wednesday laugh:

“The American ISIS bride who wants to come home to the US has told how she wants the government to pay for her to undergo therapy if it allows her to return - and says she is hopeful they won't send her to jail.

'I'm a normal human being who has been manipulated,' Hoda, who was 20 when she fled, said…”

Kaptain Kenya would have invited her to the WH and heap praise on her "bravery".

Sure. You can have all the waterboarding you can handle. That's all the therapy you'll ever need.

Article notes that she lived in Alabama but doesn't specify where she was born, so I suspect she might not actually be a native or naturalized USC... in which case, suck it. And if she WAS a USC but legally renounced/expatriated once overseas, then suck it again.

Listening to a discussion on this very topic on the radio, it was said she renounced her citizenship.

Game over.

Their is nothing complicated about this interpretation, she didn't want to be a US citizen so she left the United States to join ISIS in Syria. This is as elementary as it can be put.
Now for the non complicated response to her request. You are up shits creek without a paddle and you raft has a hole in it, you are no longer welcome in the United States to visit and or reside. That seems pretty simple to me. Good riddance.

What I’ve read on this is that she was born in the U.S. (I think New Jersey). But at the time of her birth her father was a diplomat. Under U.S. law children born in the U.S. to a parent who is a diplomat are not immediately U.S. citizens but instead considered citizens of thier parent’s country.

The claim being made on her side is that her father's diplomatic status ended a few months before she was born.

PJW at his best. The ISIS bride on the screen wants to return to the UK, but he mentions the one who wants to come to the United States as well. His take on the media is spot on, as always

Waterboarding is still very controversial. Use Diesel instead.

Right, The US says her father was a diplomat when she was born so she isn't a US citizen despite having received a US passport. Her passport was revoked in 2016 but, based on what I've read, that action doesn't automatically strip one of US citizenship. However, if the US says she was never a citizen to begin with there is no citizenship to take away.

If she were clearly a US citizen she should be allowed to return and face the consequences, in my opinion, but now I suspect she'll never set foot in the US again. It's going to be very difficult to fight an immigration case from Syria.

Despite having received a US passport? How the hell did she get a US passport if she isn't a US citizen?

Ok, so I'm assuming the passport was issued in error then.

The fact that the U.S. issued her a passport suggests the U.S. believed her a U.S. citizen at one point.

Secy. Pompeo believes that situation no longer obtains. He has not said why he believes that. IANAL, but it would seem 8 USC 1481 would not apply, because ISIS was never recognized as a foreign state by the U.S.

However, there is this:

quote:

Hoda Muthana, ISIS bride, is not entitled to us citizenship.

Muthana is not entitled to U.S. citizenship and the media is burying this, her father was registered as a diplomat until February 1995 with the Department of State; She was born on 10/22/1994. Her father, Ahmed Ali, apparently surrendered his diplomatic privileges on 6/2/1994 at the request of the Republic of Yemen. At the time however, Yemen was embroiled in a civil war and split into two factions, making the claim seem even more dubious. Even so his failure to inform the Dept. of State of the loss of his diplomatic privileges makes this his problem, no ours.

From the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services:

USCIS confirms with the Department of State whether the applicant’s parent(s) was on the Blue List at the time of the child’s birth. If an applicant did not have a parent on the Blue List at the time of his or her birth in the United States, then the applicant is a U.S. citizen because the applicant did not have full diplomatic immunity and was therefore subject to U.S. jurisdiction at the time of birth.

https://www.uscis.gov/policyma...-PartO-Chapter3.html

Since Ahmed Ali was still listed on Dept. of State's Blue List at the time, he still had diplomatic privileges in the US although his status had been 'revoked', so he exploited the fact that Yemeni government was dysfunctional at the time and lived under diplomatic privileges for over a year. Since he was still here under diplomatic privilege his daughter has no right to US citizenship, she is a Yemeni citizen, as per their citizenship laws, since her father was a citizen at the time, citizenship was automatically conferred to her.

...

This is not the first time her citizenship has come into question, as the Dept. of State under the Obama Administration had reviewed her claim to citizenship and had decided she was not a citizen, her U.S. passport was then revoked following this decision which took effect in January of 2016. Thus, Hoda’s claim to citizenship was already decided over 3 years ago, contrary to what the MSM would have you believe.

Full post at Reddit: Hoda Muthana, ISIS bride, is not entitled to us citizenship.

She might want to rethink her plans. I foresee her sitting in that refugee camp a long time while her citizenship status works its way through the courts, after which time, if she prevails on that point, the U.S. will certainly seek to prosecute her for treason. If they don't just snatch her up as an enemy combatant and ship her off to GitMo or the like.
