I just read an article about a 13 year old Vermont "Gubernatorial candidate" that wants to ban "assault weapons". He claims he and other children are "getting shot at" so they should have a say. I have often thought about this, and why more conservatives with money don't do it. You know why? As a conservative do you know what I like best? Being left alone. Being left to live my life, as I see fit, to the best of my ability. To raise a family free of outside influence. To live and let live. Trying to influence (control) others is the natural opposite of what a conservative wants. Leftists, on the other hand, need to be in control. They need to influence others, try to bring them under their control. Leftists cannot exist knowing that others have free will, free to choose, and especially free to say "no" to them. This infuriates the left. Hence leftists strive to control EVERYTHING. That is why they are lawyers (control through law), why they are journalists (control through propaganda), why they are educators (control through indoctrination), why they are politicans (control through power). So yea, I wish more wealthy conservatives would get into the "news" business to get the message out, but I completely understand why they don't. | |||

The problem with Vermont, like Maine, is it is too easy to infest with liberals. They take the train from NYC to Burlington, and they take the train from Boston to Portland. Both states are full of good honest folk that are getting overrun by parasites. My plan was originally to really retire to Maine, but I may have to ammend that and stay down south.
