Kamala Harris: Abortion is more important than religious freedom https://www.washingtonexaminer...n-religious-freedom/ Vice President Kamala Harris continued her campaign’s abortion extremism during an interview with NBC News’s Hallie Jackson on Tuesday. When asked about religious exemptions for abortion, Harris stated, “I don’t think we should be making concessions when we’re talking about a fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body.” The Democratic nominee for president believes in forcing religious healthcare providers to perform abortions, a procedure that goes against many of their deeply held religious beliefs. It’s further proof a Harris administration would be authoritarian and infringe on religious rights while masquerading as freedom-loving and tolerant. Harris has been radically pro-abortion during her entire political career. Her history shows she is more than willing to target religious healthcare providers with punishment for not bowing to societal pressure. In 2018, then-Sen. Harris proposed and sponsored the Do No Harm Act. The legislation was in direct response to the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores and Little Sisters of the Poor Saints Peter and Paul Home v. Pennsylvania cases, both of which received favorable Supreme Court rulings. In each, the high court allowed for religious exemptions within the Affordable Care Act’s contraceptive mandate. At the time the Do No Harm bill was introduced, Harris was adamant: “That First Amendment guarantee [of religious freedom] should never be used to undermine other Americans’ civil rights or subject them to discrimination on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation or gender identity,” she said. Ironic, considering Harris wishes to undermine freedom and openly discriminate against religious healthcare organizations because they refuse to take the life of an unborn human being. It is hardly surprising that Catholic hospitals and other Catholic healthcare clinics would push back against government attempts to strong-arm them into performing abortions. The Catholic Church opposes the act of abortion. Allowing a religious exemption for Catholic hospitals and other faith-based medical organizations does not prohibit a woman from seeking an abortion elsewhere. The number of abortions in the United States has actually increased since 2020. During her NBC interview, Harris repeated the claim that “a basic freedom has been taken from the women of America,” referencing the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022. This is wholly false. While women in the U.S. have the freedom to secure abortion services at a variety of places, a Harris administration wishes to force religious providers to violate their core values. Harris has made abortion a cornerstone of her campaign since it began only three months ago. As a woman attempting to become the first female president, she presents herself as genuinely sympathetic when it concerns “reproductive rights.” But that concern only extends to women who find themselves with unwanted or unexpected pregnancies. And Harris’s only solution is to push abortion to get rid of the “problem” of a supposedly inconvenient life. Without a doubt, religious exemptions should always exist for abortion and other reproductive-related issues such as contraception. As long as abortion is permitted in the U.S., there must be protections for those whose faith does not allow their participation in it. Harris says abortion “cannot be negotiable.” What really should be nonnegotiable is protecting our foundational freedoms. Harris is no friend to religious people, and she actively stood on the side of religious oppression while in Congress and during the last four years as vice president. Her desire to continue this anti-Americanism while in the Oval Office should greatly alarm voters, whether they’re personally religious or not. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." The commies can only campaign on video games, abortion, Hitler, and...porn. And here is a Democrat ad called "Republicans Rubbing You The Wrong Way". I have never seen this level of depravity in a campaign season. ***NSFW*** https://nypost.com/2024/10/28/...ban-porn-nationwide/ "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

Biden is a liability... Hopefully, he will get angry again and speak out some more. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

USA Today refuses to endorse Kamala Harris They all see the handwriting on the wall https://www.thedailybeast.com/...tm_medium=socialflow USA Today, the nation’s fourth largest newspaper, says it’s joining The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times in not endorsing a presidential candidate this election. A spokesperson for the paper told the Daily Beast on Monday that it will instead focus on providing “readers with the facts that matter and the trusted information they need to make informed decisions.” That’s a stark difference from four years ago when USA Today broke with decades-old tradition to endorse Joe Biden for president. That endorsement claimed Donald Trump wasn’t a capable leader and that the U.S. was “dangerously off course.” USA Today’s editorial board wrote that it decided to endorse back then—for the first time since 1982—because the 2020 election was was an “extraordinary moment” in history that required an “extraordinary response” from the paper. “Biden is a worthy antidote to Trump’s unbounded narcissism and chronic chaos,” the paper told its readers. Trump, 78, is by most accounts still the same man today as he was when USA Today printed its scathing editorial about him, but the paper has apparently had a change of heart in what its readers are looking for from it. Lark-Marie Antón, a USA Today spokesperson, explained the decision to not endorse in an email: “Why are we doing this? Because we believe America’s future is decided locally—one race at a time. And with more than 200 publications across the nation, our public service is to provide readers with the facts that matter and the trusted information they need to make informed decisions.” USA Today has a circulation of 132,640 print subscribers and has millions of more readers online. However, unlike the trio of national newspapers larger than it by print circulation—The New York Times, the Post, and The Wall Street Journal—USA Today is the flagship brand for over 200 local newspapers dotted across the country. Unlike the billionaires overseeing of the Post and LA Times, there have been no reports that any single person in the leadership at Gannet, which is a publicly traded company, intervened to personally shut down an endorsement at USA Today. Other Gannett newspapers are free to endorse in local elections, Antón said, but none are endorsing at the presidential level. That includes the Palm Beach Post, whose coverage area includes Mar-a-Lago, as well as large papers in three swing states—The Arizona Republic, the Detroit Free Press, and the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Poyntner Institute, a non-profit journalism research organization, reported this week that presidential endorsements are becoming less common at both regional and national newspapers. That’s partially due to shrinking staffs, it said, but also because online readers aren’t able to—or choose not to—discern the difference between a newspaper’s editorial board and its straight-news coverage. That can lead to incensed readers and less subscribers. The Wall Street Journal, as it has since 1928, has declined to endorse a candidate this election, leaving The New York Times’ backing of Harris as the lone presidential endorsement from a national newspaper. ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023

You're correct. It was a bad comparison on my part. The more accurate thing, perhaps, is the line about "when you have a finger pointing at someone, you have three more pointing back at yourself." God bless America.
