Another one of the great American companies has been taken over by the left.

Even Harley-Davidson is working for the radical progressives now.

They launched a shocking attack on conservatives and now their business is in deep trouble.

Harley-Davidson is the last company anyone would’ve expected to go “woke.” They have built a lasting legacy on serving customers who are conservative, freedom-loving Americans.

But things are changing, and the left has made it their strategy to take over great American institutions and hollow them out.

Unfortunately, it seems that Harley-Davidson is no different.

These major corporations are so concerned about public perception that they hire overpaid PR agencies to make them look more appealing.

These PR agents lean hard to the left and tell the board of directors at these various companies to position themselves as “progressive” in order to avoid criticism from the media.

A company like Harley-Davidson should know not to fall into that trap, but now they’re spewing the same progressive garbage we’ve seen other companies fall prey to.

The “CEO Act!on for Diversity & Inclusion” has a report on Harley-Davidson that includes quotes from their former CEO, Matthew Levatich.

The most shocking part of the report is the discussion about hiring strategies.

“Harley-Davidson had several initiatives to ensure inclusion in our hiring practices to assist with the transition. Two of these initiatives enacted in 2018 were ‘ban the box’ during the application process and a pay equity directive for salaried employees. With the ‘ban the box’ initiative, the question about prior criminal history was removed from the application.”

For Harley-Davidson to be organizing their hiring practices around “diversity and inclusion” is scary.

And removing the criminal history box from their job application is in line with the left’s pro-crime ideology they’ve adopted lately thanks to George Soros.

The fact it’s even included as part of a “diversity and inclusion” initiative is bizarrely racist in itself. Why would Harley-Davidson assume that getting rid of the criminal history box would help minority applicants?

Levatich, of course, dresses this up with flowery language.

“Freedom is personal. When we think about our company Purpose to fulfill dreams of personal freedom and as we all see the meaning we bring to a world of individuals who use Harley-Davidson to make a statement about who they are, diversity is as powerful an idea in our business as you can get. With our powerful purpose, we are striving to be the most customer-led company on the planet. We’ll only truly get there with a genuine curiosity and passion for the great diversity in our world and by reflecting that in all we do, how we act and what we believe.”

Harley-Davidson can try and hide their left-wing agenda behind flowery language, but discerning customers can see right through it.

Well if you exclude criminals from Harley's then they'd sell half the bikes they do, and it would be hard to find guys to work in the plants and mechanics LOL

Part of the HD lore is outlaw bikers, Hells Angels, not exactly upstanding fine clean cut citizens... Outlaws have always been a big part in motorcycling, unless you are on a Honda... where you meet the nicest people.

Companies don't need that box anyway, big companies always do extensive background checks and they will find out everything, guarantee there's still a section where you agree to allow them to check your credit, criminal history, social media posts, you won't find someone convicted of finance fraud getting an offer.

Pay equity, it's a nothing burger complaint and not exactly woke anymore....

Took a long time for that author to get to the point, which was lacking... won't hurt the company one bit.

Meh, not seeing any attacks or "deep trouble" in this article.

HD has been in a slow decline for a while now. Their customer base continues to get older and they have not succeeded in replacing it with the younger crowd.

The problem is that the percentage of "masculine" biker type males in that "younger crowd" has been on a steady decline. Regardless, as per usual, the article misses that and overstates the issue. "Deep Trouble", ummm, mkay, something new... Roll Eyes

I think their problem isn't "masculine biker type" decline rather than younger riders actually want a bike that performs well and is not akin to a 2 wheeled version of a 1978 Ford LTD.
Dragging a knee in corners and having sub 11 second 1/4 mile acceleration are what bikers are asking for these days. Dressing up like a pirate and paying $30,000 for 70hp is what the guys do who don't really know about bikes but want to try to look cool.
Hardly Davidson has long been a clothing brand who also sells sub par bikes. It's no wonder it's ran by libs who put their agendas first and business second.

Or a competitor to this. V twins don’t have to be boring land yachts they can be loads of fun too. Suzuki and Ducati have shown the V twin can be one of the most fun and reliable engines available. Why TF didn’t Hardly Davidson realize this?

Harley is belatedly trying to get younger riders and crack the adventure touring bike market with the Pan American. I love my Pan American! But HD needs a responsive, lighter weight bike priced around 14K to attract younger riders. I dont see it coming. And as far as being woke, no trace of that at my local HD dealer.

I don't see anything that indicates HD is attacking conservatives in this particular article. I believe everyone deserves a second chance if they've made a mistake, paid their debt to society and repented. Besides you can remove the question regarding arrests/convictions from any job application but that doesn't stop the company from completing a background check on potential employees. Harleys are nice bikes and there struggle is to create a new image to appeal to new riders which so far they've failed miserably.

Personally I felt that the naming of Jochen Zeitz as President was a oh oh moment. Unfortunately we won’t see the likes of another Vaughn Beals again.

No powersports experience whatsoever didn’t in my view didn’t bode well. That and the marketing whizzes that decided a base Sportster should start at 17k. And nothing under 1200cc except for riding academy bikes not sold to the general public except in Asian markets. Gotta go for the Chinese market,ask General Motora.

Guess we’ll see in a few years the fruits of the seeds they have planted. Im expecting the fruit to grow rotten though.

For the same reason Cadillac and Lincoln will never build a Porsche 911. It isn't what they do. Doing so might alienate the buyers of big cruisers and traditional HDs.

Not every company has to be everything to everyone.

Perhaps you can say, they did. They just haven’t been very successful at it thus far. My SIL has ridden Harley exclusively since I’ve known him. He was especially into long rides and challenged himself with Iron Butt rides on his Road King. I think it’s been two years ago now that he traded for Harley’s entry in the “adventure bike” field. It’s been discouraging for him, the MC has had a lot of warranty issues and been in the shop quite a lot; problems he never experienced with his other H-Ds.

Back in the early 1960's Honda featured their 50cc bikes in the "nicest people" advertising campaign. I was working for Bell Labs at the time, so several of us decided to form an outlaw gang using the Honda 50cc bikes. We called ourselves "Bell's Angels," aka "The Mild Ones." We got a great deal on a group buy for the official gang bike.

There was a minor glitch getting the gang organized because some of the guys had to be home by 9:00pm.

We took a vote and decided to go with the time-honored tradition of tearing up small towns, the pillage and burn stuff, but we had a problem because some of the gang members did not understand the proper sequence: FIRST you pillage, THEN you burn.

BMW, KTM, Yamaha, Triumph, and Ducati all make ADV bikes that are light years ahead of the HD. Same with their new "sportster" abomination. Go sit on one and look at how it's put together. Looks like it was the prototype with misc. parts thrown together, not the final product.

I would argue that their complete and total inability to offer an exciting entry level motorcycle geared to attract new riders is why their riders are aging out and new riders are not replacing them.


You do realize Cadillac makes a sports car based on the corvette right? That’s a terrible argument on your part. Do better next time.
