Chicago police have now examined "hundreds of hours" of video tape from the whole area surrounding where the alleged attack took place, and have not found an assault. According to the article, Chicago has one of the most extensive and effective video surveillance systems in the US. And... nothing.

You might think that in a rational society the authorities would conclude at this point that there is no evidence that such an attack actually took place. End of investigation.

But this is no longer a rational society. Remember Kavanaugh: just the accusation alone, with no corroborating evidence, no eyewitnesses, was enough for many to condemn Kavanaugh and viciously attack him and his family.

In reviewing video, police noticed two men walking in the area of the supposed attack at around 2 a.m. Keep in mind, no attack. Just two guys walking together. Now here is the thing: If it should turn out that these two guys happen to be white and Trump supporters the poor bastards are done for.

At the very least, their names will be blared on cable news 24/7. Their home addresses will shortly follow on social media. They will be threatened and harassed, along with their families. Al Sharpton, BLM, Black Panthers... they will be persecuted and maybe physically attacked for no reason whatsoever.

At worst, they will be arrested, charged, and-- in a trial in Chicago-- very possibly end up in the slammer.

We just saw how that 16 year old white kid had his life turned upside down for absolutely no reason other than smiling while white. And wearing a MAGA hat.

Is this still America? It's America turning the corner toward a very dark place.

He was "forced to do it" because of the climate of hate in the US.

First thing that came to mind that it was a publicity hoax, claim an act happens, blame one segment of society and all the while there is nothing to prove or disprove the act happened or if it did, and he was mugged, that it was by two white trump supporters.

Be really interesting if the two guys in the video turn out to be gay men who identify as black lesbian women.

His “partner” called 911 from his apartment after he got back. He still had the “noose” around his neck when the cops arrived. Ummm....nope.

My guess is that him and his partner had a slap fight and he walked around for a half hour to cool off. When he got back maybe they discovered a cut or something on him, but why they called the cops is beyond me. But who did it? White guys! In ski masks! Oh - wearing MAGA hats! And they knew I was gay! All of this at 2 AM in cold as shit Chicago.

And as more comes out, it continues to fall apart. From the police report, it wasn’t a noose. Just nylon cord that came right out of the package.

Do they need his phone to check? If they have his number they could get the info from the provider.

Now the Chicago police chief says that Smollet will be held responsible if he filed a fake police report. The police are playing a political game-- for instance, investigating the two men on the video even though they knew the two were "bums" and not involved. They needed to give every appearance of taking the claim of assault seriously and investigating it thoroughly-- though they must have known like all of us that it is bullshit.

The wheels are turning slowly on charging Smollet.

It seems that so far, there is only about 60 seconds of unaccountable video coverage of his stroll that evening. Extremely unlikely that the only time he was not on some camera he claims to have been assaulted. I firmly believe that the police are playing politics but narrowing the REAL noose on this race baiting liar.

This story stunk as soon as it broke. But here is another take on its obvious falsity: Smollet has been quiet for some time now, having only released some phone records that are so heavily redacted as to be useless. -- So, weeks ago he was attacked and beaten, and not only have the police not caught the culprits, they have not identified them, and they have no leads, and no further evidence. In other words, they got nothin'. Shouldn't Smollet be pissed off and demanding answers?
