Yeah when they release statements for public consumption and it contains phrases like the "prosecutions priority is seeking justice and not securing billable hours for big city attorneys" that sounds very much like there already exists a personal dislike and lack of mutual respect between prosecution and defense. These people aren't having lunch together everyday knowing they have already agreed to a outcome.

That's not good for Baldwin but good for the rest of the world.

The report said condition of release was no alkihaul but that wouldn't be an issue since he had been dry since 1985.

Here I thought for years when he was caught doing crazy shit by and to the press he was drunk. But no he was sober doing all that crazy shit.

Yeah, the guy is charged with killing another human being. I don't think it's too much to ask that he appear in person.

The first court appearance is basically just scheduling.

The willingness of some of you to be "understanding" and let this son of a bitch off the hook for any aspect of this trial is maddening.

Baldwin shits on the Constutution and he despises gun owners in this country and behaves like he's royalty and looks down on those in fly-over country and you guys want to cut him slack.

He already has advocates, the best he can afford. Do you guys want to join his legal team and stand up for ol' Alec?

Isn't this an arraignment? How is it not?

A defendant has a right to appear in court to hear the charges against him read and enter a plea. Like every other right it can be waived, so most jurisdictions allow a defendant to do just that - his lawyer appears, hears the charges, and enters a plea. Here in Florida we also allow written pleas of not guilty.

I'd rather see and hear baldwin having to take the time and effort to walk his happy ass into a courtroom and stand there to hear the charges, respect the judge and state his plea. There's always a chance he will show his ass and piss of the judge.

He will always be stained with this killing. He can never again preach his sanctimonious poison to the rest of the world. It will always be Alec Baldwin*

Meanwhile, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed did appear on Friday, virtually. It was not to enter a plea (which will be "not guilty" according to her attorney), but to request permission to possess a gun at home, due to numerous threats on her life since the shooting.

The judge granted her request, even though the DA vehemently advised against it citing her "sloppy mishandling of firearms and guns" on the set of Rust. She went on to suggest that Gutierrez-Reed could either move or keep a bat or pepper spray in her house instead.

I do not believe Baldwin had malice in his heart when he killed the director. I do think he was grossly negligent in both the handling the gun, the lack of attention in training before the movie started shooting, and the hiring of someone not qualified to be an armorer. I really don't have a dog in this, but I would love to see ALec spend a few months in jail, and be entered into NICS as a prohibited person from owning and possessing a firearm.

As for the armorer receiving death threats: any bets it is Alec screaming at her, blaming her for all of this?

Nor do I. I wouldn't think for a second he killed her intentionally. Such a thing would make no sense.

But, his negligence with a firearm resulted in the death of one person and the wounding of another. If this killing had occurred at the hands of most other Hollywood types, I wouldn't wish for them to suffer for what they did, nor be incarcerated for it.

However, this is Alec Baldwin, who for years has condemned gun owners and gun ownership, openly stating that the Second Amendment should be repealed and our guns confiscated. It is not possible for me to wish him any greater harm than I do right now.

I've handled loaded firearms day in, day out for more than fifty years, and I haven't shot anyone.

This is karma, karma, karma. The Universe finally told Baldwin that it has had enough of his shit.

A few of us might be able to pick out the line
"Karma is nothing more than Justice without the Satisfaction."

The bad thing is in this incident is that that hypocritical fuck-stain killed one person and injured another. Too bad he couldn't shoot himself. Maybe a ricochet, hit him in the spine. It's one thing when you're famous and everyone is running around KISSING your ass, but it probably sucks when you need someone around WIPING your ass and no one to be found...
THAT'S what this turd deserves; a long, protracted suffering and a unceremonious death.
"Alec Who?"
