Do not climb around inside a power substation

Do not mash your face onto a lit hamburger griddle

Do not wrap rope or wire tightly around your neck

Don't forget, do not spill hot coffee on your junk because you will get burnt. That one cost McDonald's millions.

Filling bags with gasoline and putting those bags into your car, then driving it down the road, is criminally negligent behavior. The problem is that people really can't be stopped from doing this- not unless you expect some poorly paid convenience store attendant to manhandle the paying public.

My advice to all right now is to just lay low as much as possible. People are just going to have to become saturated and therefore numb to the constant state of panic and settle the fuck down. Some people thrive on this frenzy- the ones who think of themselves as anarchists and the like- but most people want calm and order in their world. They just want to have dinner and maybe a beer and sleep peacefully in their bed. So, at some point, we shall regain our equilibrium. Until then, enjoy the show.

to the extent that raising prices discourages hoarding that is exactly what they should be doing

if gas spiked to $7 / gallon I guarantee there would be some available for those that NEEDED it

Colonial Pipeline Refuses To Pay Hacker Ransom Even As Thousands Of Gas Stations Run Dry

Update (1612 ET): Colonial Pipeline has no plans to pay ransom to hackers to restore its paralyzed pipeline system, according to WaPo, citing two people familiar with the matter. Instead, the company is working with cybersecurity firm Mandiant to restore data from backup systems.

What this means is the Colonial pipeline system that spans from Texas to New Jersey has yet to be restored.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

For decades, criminals, nee pirates, in the cyber domain have been holding small companies, local governments, and even individuals hostage, blackmailed, or even vandalized. The government, in the responsible law enforcement entity of FBI and DOJ, have not been engaged to the level they need to be going after this international criminal conspiracy. They have been doing other things while this threat has grown. It is so effective that the non-state and quasi-non-state actors have been joined by governments in this enterprise for fun and profit.

Enough.

Doesn't sound like something law enforcement should get involved with. I was thinking more along the lines of the CIA or SEAL team 6 or Delta Force would give them a more appropriate response to this type of terrorism.

WTF? Whats wrong with people? Also, why is there a national reserve of gas for like 2 weeks or so? Just in case something happens to the supply lines. You never know when you might need it.

not really a fuel supply issue, its a certified truck driver to deliver and haul the fuel to retail

EPA issued waivers in some areas to use the stock pile of winter blend fuel

Pretty sure this qualifies as terrorism and the best thing Obiden can do is direct the intelligence agencies to find the perps and capture or kill. They need to be made an example of to deter others.
