I guess it must be my 2000 Mazda B3000 2WD regular cab pick up that I bought new in November 1999. I drive it every day around the farm, it is truly a utility vehicle, since it is still street legal and reliable. 1949 Mercury coupe. I lovingly rebuilt the flathead. It purred like a kitten and got 25 MPG. Two coeds who both wanted me came over and helped rubbing compound it and wax it. It looked goooood! I teased them both. | |||

Favorite car was a 911 Turbo, blown engine at 40k miles. I would still have it if we had separate checking accounts...... For trucks its a 48 Chevy 3/4 ton. Hurst kit to mount a 350 small block, put it together when I was 19. Lick the lollipop of mediocrity once and you suck forever. | |||

I guess it's my 08 Honda Ridgeline based on the fact I've kept it 13 years and still enjoy driving it. I'm 70 and have been a car guy with a great location since the early 1970s. There have been many fine automobiles that I'd keep for a year or two and then let them fly. I ordered a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI. Turbo, 12 way power seats, heads up display, ride control, shift control with metallic dark green exterior and light brown leather interior. It would quit at 125 because of a chip in the computer and if I keep my foot out of it it would get 30 MPH. Traded it for a van to haul boys to baseball games. | |||

I do not have a long and storied car history but I score an easy favorite after I got my boys off my insurance policy. 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. Not a well known car so for those not in the know, similar in heritage to the (mid 2000's) GTO it was the knock-off to a Holden Commodore. Rear wheel, 51/49 weight split with the 6L and rear wheel drive it was an astonishing drivers car. Not the fastest, but on rails at speeds above 100 (or so I've heard ). Was faster than the 5.7 Hemis and kept up with the 6.2, stopped quicker and handled much better and still got 20-22 mph. The dash and instruments were amazing, loved the starter button separate of the key. One of the coolest features was that all of the tailight and turn signal lenses were glass and didn't age. Flatheads had very hard iron and were different to machine than other cylinder heads. They fought back when resurfacing. I fitted the pistons with a long feeler gage that I pulled with a scale to equalize. The pistons have 4 rings, one below the wrist pin. Ford flathead V8s had dual cooling systems with a common radiator. Two water pumps that were also motor mounts, two thermostats, four radiator hoses. | |||

Ah come on man. That’s just harsh. You don’t like the continual “fuel pump, water pump, clutch” cycle? To be fair though, the Morris 1300 I when I lived and worked over there never gave a lick of trouble on any of those. It was just that blasted Solex carburetor that seemed to varnish up about every other week. At the time I swore the Brits must have had nothing better to do each weekend than take the carb apart and clean the varnish out of it. | |||

I'm 72 years old & I've had a few. A 36 Chevy coupe, numerous muscle cars, Jeeps, pickups, even a VW bug; but my all time favourite is the 2015 GMC pickup I have now. I have been fortunate to own some awesome cars. I’ve even had the opportunity to own my dream car for a couple years until it proved to be less practical than I assumed it would be for a family with child. My dream car was a 2017 Mercedes G550 that I ordered brand new and waited 6 months for it to arrive. It was awesome but just not conducive to transporting a child in a car seat. I will own another one someday, as even the new ones are amongst the only German luxury vehicles that I would be willing to own and not lease. Before the G wagen, I had a 2015 BMW M3 that was awesome. The other vehicle that I owned and really miss was my 1997 2door GMC Yukon. I really wish someone would make a 2 door full size body on frame SUV again. I will own a Porsche 911 someday, and I’m giving serious consideration to the new C8 Corvette. As much as I’d like to be a collector of vehicles, I tend to swap them out fairly often as that has given me the ability to sample a greater number of cool vehicles than if I were to have “bought and held.” “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. I think you’re forgetting cracked head that pumps coolant out onto the distributor cap under load; transmission rebuild that requires the engine to be pulled to repair (IIRC), no start with temps below freezing, and infamous Lucas electrical system that could (did) cause the lights to just go dark at the most inopportune time. The best vehicles I've ever owned were a 1995 Toyota Avalon and a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. Had the Avalon until my youngest wrecked it and sold the Suburban back in 2019. Both were as trouble free as they come. | |||

2010 Lexus RX350 Nice interior, good power, great ride, esp on highway, usable space. Sterring was a bit soft butt that was it. Traded it for my current 2019 Tacoma. --------------------------------------- It's like my brain's a tree and you're those little cookie elves. | |||
