When I sold my business in 2006, I ordered a BMW; 2007 335i coupe. Stick. Blue. 145 without a shiver. Man, I loved that car. Had a few issues early-on but the warranty covered them. I sold it the other day. Driving my wife's RAV 4 is just not the same. I miss that car.

What dream car you have owned in the past that you miss now?

Not really a dream car but I miss my diesel Mk4 VW Jetta.

The 1.9 TDI engine was before the diesel filters and fluid crap.

I miss my Corvette. But my new Charger is a hoot. And way more practical than a Corvette.

1967 pale yellow Mercury Cougar. My cousin had a royal blue XR-7 and I was envious because hers was fancier.

I loved my 2015 Mercedes C300. Sporty & comfortable, good power & great MPG.

Would more want my 1982 Mercedes 240D back, though. Slowest car I've ever driven, but loved it.

I have had a few that I really liked, some really fun to drive, some just really comfortable for sitting on long road trips, and the MB 240D for reliability, longevity, and low operating cost.

  • 1961 Karman Ghia convertible

  • 1963 Porsche 356B

  • 1972 Porsche 911T

  • 1972 Mercedes 280SE 4.5

  • 1973 Citroen DS-21

  • (year?) BMW 2000Tii

  • (year?) BMW 328e

  • 1978 Mercedes 240D

2000 Tacoma, still driving it. It doesn't look new but not that far off. Had to replace a pad under the manual shift lever, that's it. The seat belts could retract better. Smile

2 come to mind. The first was a '64' Pontiac Tempest LeMans sport coupe that I built to run C Modified Production at the local drag strip. I trophied a number of times with it and it was street legal. What a blast to drive around town in that thing. Big Grin

The second one was a '91' Dodge pickup with the Cummins diesel that would pull our 20 ft fishing boat and a 10 ft camper while getting 23 MPG. That truck was a beast.

99 Chevy Tahoe. Bought it used 2 years old with 24K miles on it. I loved the way it drove but once it hit 100K miles it became unreliable. Since I used it to haul my family, I ended up getting rid of it.

I often think about and miss the 1965 Volkswagen Beetle I had back in the early 70's. Such a simple and economical car. An icon. I'd prolly get a restored one if they weren't so stupidly high priced.

I have more dreams involving my first car, a 1963 VW Variant Sedan, but I truly miss the $60 1966 VW Microbus I had, more. We drove that old thing all over Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado when I was young.
