Thanks for that tip, I'll put a Costco run on my schedule. I had to look up the actual date, because I did not see it mentioned in this thread. For anyone who might be as ignorant as as I was, it's February 9 this year (2025).

I haven't watched an NFL game since they were ok with those fucking thugs kneeling for our National Anthem because the multi-millionaire crybabies had it so rough. Fuck them and the super bowl.

I used to plan my Sundays around the NFL schedule. Since they got so very woke I haven't watched a single game. This is going on 10 years now. Same thing with the NBA. Fuck'em.

Fine with me, I likely would have avoided it anyway. I used to be a super fan of one team, which has done quite well in Super Bowls over the years, but I never had, or went to a party, when they were in a Super Bowl. SB parties suck out loud anyway, and all the other factors Para listed have taken their toll on my interest.
If I see it, fine.
If I miss it, that’s fine too.

Yeah, the last time I somewhat watched the SB was at a party, my son was in grade school (he's 26 yo now), and it was when Eli Manning and the Giants beat Tom Brady and the Patriots, a big deal at the time. Maybe 15 years ago or so. And around the same time, I stopped watching regular season games, around the same time I stopped watching the NBA as well.

The last one that I recall tuning into was perhaps when The Black-Eyed Peas (Fergie, you know...) choked on the half-time show. Maybe caught a few minutes here and there over the years since, but that was the last one I wanted to watch. 2011, the internet says.

I've called it the "Stupid Bowl" for at least 20 years.
The NFL offers nothing that is interesting to me.

I usually don't comment in sports threads because I don't give a rip. So I don't mind not commenting here because I still don't give a rip.

We do have the Sigforum NCAA Football Survival Pool, which is lots of fun, so thanks for allowing that.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I had to get help bringing them to the super bowl last year.

After a good laxative, we got some touchdowns!

Doing a COSTCO run during the Super Bowl is a great idea! I used to do drives during it, if possible - only days with comparable traffic was Christmas Day, and that may have been busier.

Now that's a good idea

Don't ever watch, liked it because lift lines were much shorter that day. Grocery store is less crowded too. Chips sold out, but that does not bother me.
