The Police Force in the Republic of Ireland - An Garda Sióchána - are not routinely armed, but they DO have specialist units that are, like SFUs and SWAT teams everywhere. The Police Service of Northern Ireland - PSNI [formerly the RUC] - has been armed in public every day of their founding in 1922. Over three hundred of them were killed in the recent 'troubles'. I urge you to do so. The Leftinistas and the Dominant "News" Media are trying to do to Elon Musk and Twitter/X exactly what they've been trying to do to Trump: Kill them off by whatever means necessary. I agree with many others about the (potential) evils of social media platforms such was Twitter/X, FaceBook, Instagram, etc. But, like all technological changes: It doesn't have to be that way. Used to your advantage it can be beneficial. Most of the accounts I follow are fitness- and golf-related accounts. Very few political or social commentary accounts. Even then: It's necessary to exert a bit of self control to avoid "doom scrolling." I check in a few times a day, see what might be new and interesting, and, when I find myself scrolling down about the third or fourth time, remind myself "no doom scrolling," and leave. I do not have the Twitter/X app on phone or tablet. I use it via web browsers only. I do not let Twitter/X consume me. "America is at that awkward stage.
