This is an older thread

I tried several times over the past year to reach Flashguy, David Casteel, but never got through.

I recently started searching on the internet.

David E. Casteel passed away September 13, 2025 at the age of 87.

I hope I am wrong but I doubt there is another David Emile Casteel born December 21st, living in Richardson Texas and longtime member of First United Methodist Church Richardson.

Sorry to read the update. He was a nice guy and we had sporadically interacted via e-mail a few times over the years.

I had searched obituaries a few times for Flashguy but never found one including today

I was kind of thinking that he had died after not posting for some time and after his fall (and several days laying in his yard). Not sure if he had any family, but if so, condolences to them.

I sure do hope his Mustang went to someone who will care for it.

Rest in peace, flashguy.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The African Safari was much earlier than his fall and days laying in the backyard.

Sad that he never recovered from that and never went home.

He is not suffering any more, he has been healed and is with his Lord and Savior.

The pix of him in his Santa suit by his Christmas tree is etched in my memory. It is another classic SF memory.

One of the great ones here.
