Caffeine free Diet Pepsi.

This is my usual fare.

Of the sugary stuff which I rarely drink these days, I had a weakness for Jones Soda Co. flavors; local but like so many other things thanks to leftist propaganda politics schlock in its hometown of Seattle, kinda shamed into background for all of that calorie-inducing sugar being "foisted on all of those poor, poor lower class folk types", never mind that Jones isn't exactly the cheap stuff that all of those po' po' people typically buy.

I've been away from it so long that the last bottle I had maybe a year ago actually tasted awful because of the sweetness. All that diet stuff warps the taste buds, I guess.

Brookdale Beverages Soda

As A kid until they went out of business they were the go to soda company. The had everything imaginable. Cucumber soda, Celery soda Quinine water.

Anyway Black Cherry soda was my favorite.
I wish they could come back.

My local supermarket started carrying Cheerwine 5 or more years ago and I had never seen it before. I bought a 12 pack of it and after the first can I took it in to work to pawn it off on my coworkers. Everyone who tried it said it tasted like cough syrup. I think it must be something that you like only because you've had since you were a kid, as an adult I never want to acquire a taste for it.

I cut way back on Soda these days

Beat me to it, growing up in Central KY as kids we'd go up to the country store on US60 and grab an Ale-8-1 and moon pie.

When we were little my grandparents bought Coke in the small bottles, brought home in the wood crate, bottles had different towns on the bottom, those were great in the sweltering heat of SEMO....

After that became a Diet Coke fiend until I opened the work fridge and realized I was hammering a couple of cases a week.

Can't remember the last soda I drank has to be 4-5 years ago...

I had forgotten about those. We used to compare bottles to see who had the one from furthest away.

I don't know how all you guys drink diet/zero soda, it tastes awful to me. Maybe I'm just sensitive to it but all artificial sweeteners just have something that makes whatever it's in taste like crap. I'd sooner drink tap water than a diet soda if that was all there was to drink.

Totally concur! All that stuff tastes like @#$%^&!
My norm is Polar seltzer - natural flavored, zip sweeteners of any kind.

The most common one for me is LaCroix fizzy water, if that counts. I don't think it has any calories and is just flavored soda water.

I occasionally have a real Coca-Cola. Not often, maybe one every couple of weeks, if I have been out in the heat and need something cold with a jolt of sugar, I'll get a regular coke.

I think there is some truth to the sensitivity theory. Remember the experiment in HS Biology where each student put a piece of PTH paper on their tongue? Some thought it was no different than a clean sheet of paper and others found it intolerably bitter. That is due to specific genetic differences. I've never actually seen a study that would prove the same for aspartame, but I wouldn't doubt it.

BTW: I drink Diet Coke
