Regular Unleaded in my part of town is holding steady at $3.59 at H-E-B and Walmart. And maybe Kroger...

Last night, it was $4.15/regular at Costco; $70.02 to fill up. At this point, I'm paying about $60/month more for gas than last year.

I was going through some photos the other day and found some dating back to late 2018 when I was based in LAX. Because I was astounded, I took a picture of the gas prices at the station around the corner from my crash pad. If memory serves (can't find the stupid picture), Regular was $3.18/gallon. At the time in Texas, it was probably $1.95/gallon or less.

Little did I know...

Looking back at my Fuelly history the past few weeks:

All prices at the same station & 87 octane, 2 vehicles.
4/20-5/1/22: 3.699 - 4 tanks of fuel in that span

Since mid-March, the highest paid was 3.879 on 3/13
Lowest: 3.579 on 4/16/22

When I was out yesterday most stations around here had regular 87 at $3.99, 93 octane $4.59-$4.69. Diesel was $5.39 most places except the station nearest me had upped it to $5.69 when I came beck.
Mowing the grass is going to be expensive this year.

Was in Plano, TX this past week for a tennis gig at UT-Dallas. EVERYWHERE in that area was $3.99 for regular. That's $0.30 to $0.40 higher than the Houston area. WTF, over??

ETA: I think a member here that lives in the area suggested we get together. My apologies for not remembering who it is, but I'll just say that after every day on the courts, the officiating crew was TOTALLY wiped out. At least I was...the only thing I wanted to do was get to the hotel, shower, and collapse.
