A lot of them are stupid enough to not know how that affects inflation, but what’s ultimately most important to them and the ones smart enough to understand that fact is the votes they can buy from the ones who definitely are that stupid. A lot of smart Democrats are affluent enough in ways that inflation won’t affect them very much, and may actually be a benefit. The price of gas and groceries is pretty insignificant to them. ► 6.4/93.6 “I regret that I am to now die in the belief, that the useless sacrifice of themselves by the generation of 1776, to acquire self-government and happiness to their country, is to be thrown away by the unwise and unworthy passions of their sons, and that my only consolation is to be, that I live not to weep over it.” — Thomas Jefferson

Prices have dropped a little since my last post, to around $3.75. That is, of course, still high.

We use Kirkland Premium in my wife's car and a fillup a week ago cost $4.25/gal. in West Plano. It was $3.95/gal. today at a Costco in Lewisville, a 12 minute drive west. Dropped but still high seems to be the trend.

3.89 here in mid MO as we drove to the lake last night. Simply absurd. Russia needs oil prices to be high to make money. We have oil, We can produce oil if we aren't run by dipshits. Produce oil, see Russian oil prices tumble, profit... Fucking idiots running this country. Mapped: Gas Prices Across America Reach All-Time Highs In recent days, gas prices have skyrocketed to all-time highs. According to the American Automobile Association (AAA), the national average price of regular unleaded gas has reached $4.25 per gallon as of March 21st, 2022. This is the first time since 2008 that gas prices had exceeded the $4 per gallon mark. The price of gas was already rising two weeks before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, owing to the increased demand due to the lifting of COVID restrictions. But, as Visual Capitalist's Raul Amoros details below, when the war broke out, the price of regular gas jumped 41¢ during the first week. This surge in prices could add up to $2,000 in annual cost to the average American household. While the price at the pump sits at $4.25 per gallon on average, it’s worth mentioning that prices range quite substantially depending on the state. California has the highest average price at $5.86 per gallon. On the other extreme, Kansas has an average price of $3.77 per gallon. https://www.zerohedge.com/pers...reach-all-time-highs "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

The price was holding for the better part of two weeks. Was hoping it would start inching down. Nope. Went up 4 cents since yesterday. Bastard. Same price here. Was $4.45 last week. Now back to $4.49 for regular. Driving from here to Mesa on a truck that gets 16.5mpg when I drive like I'm taking my grandma to a church potluck with a cockpot of chili in her lap doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. We have two warm fuzzies to take with us, and I'm debating whether the better thing to do is simply just have the relocation company move both vehicles and we fly instead. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

We saw the temporary effect from Biden releasing oil. It adds to the temporary supply, as soon as it gets sucked up by the thirsty market things equilibrize and return to current market situation. We are seeing the return to market conditions afterwards currently. The only thing that will get the price to drop is future anticipation of greater supply. Biden can't make moves to increase supply because that will piss of the far left and he's already losing the middle as we speak. Oil companies can expand production for the future, but are hesitant as they don't know what the future regulation and permitting will be. Without a clear message to the market that the spigot is open again and won't be closed capriciously with no warning. All oil prices are dependent on future projections. Companies look at increased hurdles to business, the don't take on risky and capital intensive projects. The market sees this and anticipates lower supply and reacts accordingly. Not familiar with recent usage I was referring to economics, not any recent buzzwords. Point being, after temporary effect it will revert to current market conditions. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis
