National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism June 2021

https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-...mestic-Terrorism.pdf

"We cannot ignore this threat or wish it away.
Preventing domestic terrorism and reducing the factors
that fuel it demand a multifaceted response across
the Federal Government and beyond. That includes
working with our critical partners in state, local, tribal,
and territorial governments and in civil society, the
private sector, academia ( emphasis mine ), and local communities, as well
as with our allies and foreign partners. "

---Joseph R. Biden Jr.

"Widely displayed during the Revolutionary War, the Gadsden flag rose to prominence once again in 2009 with the Tea Party movement, quickly becoming the target of rival activists – and even government entities.

The most recent attempt was revealed in August 2022, when an apparently leaked internal FBI document showed that the agency listed the Gadsden flag, the American flag, the Betsy Ross flag, symbols of the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, and other imagery as symbols of “Militia Violent Extremists” or MVEs.

The purported FBI documents were published by the undercover journalism organization Project Veritas, which said it obtained the document from a whistleblower in the FBI.

The document is labeled “Unclassified/Law Enforcement Sensitive” and contains the “FBI Internal Use Only” disclaimer. The document states several symbols “are used by Anti-Government or Anti-Authority Violent Extremists, specifically Militia Violent Extremists,” including the Gadsden flag.

The FBI document notes that “the use or sharing of these symbols alone should not independently be considered evidence of MVE presence or affiliation, or serve as an indicator of illegal activity, as many individuals use these symbols for their original historic meaning or other non-violent purpose"\\Also in 2020, as the pandemic threatened Americans’ freedom, the Gadsden flag became widely associated with anti-lockdown protesters. Less than one year later, the Gadsden flag became a focal point once again after it was spotted among the demonstrators who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

On January 8, 2014, a black man filed a formal complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging that his white coworker’s baseball cap featuring the Gadsden flag “subjected him to discrimination on the basis of race.”

The complainant said the design was racially offensive because Gadsden was a “slave trader and owner of slaves.” According to the official statement, the complainant said he complained to management who directed his coworker to remove the cap, but he continued to come to work “wearing the offensive cap.”

The Gadsden flag is a “historical indicator of white resentment against blacks stemming largely from the Tea Party,” the complainant argued, noting that the Vice President of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters deemed the Gadsden flag as equal to the Confederate Battle Flag.

Developing from the initial complaint, Shelton D. v Brennan concluded that the “Gadsden Flag originated in the Revolutionary War in a non-racial context. Moreover, it was clear that the flag and its slogan have been used to express various non-racial sentiments, such as when it is used in the modern Tea Party political movement, gun rights activism, patriotic displays and by the military.”

It's getting hot here, and I ain't talking about the weather.

The Gadsden flag is representative of resistance to intrusive government; originally, the British Empire, and in the modern day, the monstrous U.S. Government. The flag has nothing to do with racial strife.

Gadsden was a delegate to the Continental Congress. Correct me if I'm wrong, but all such delegates were land owners, and in that period of history, most or all land owners owned slaves.

In other words, it would be difficult to impossible to find significant figures associated with the Revolution that did not own slaves or at least sanctioned slavery. We cannot apply the morals, values and practices of the modern day to people who lived 250 years ago. It's ridiculous, and the left does it purposefully in an effort to discredit those who laid the foundation for this nation.

And with regards to the Gadsden Flag being "associated with white supremacy", I do not take my queues from a faction of this society who sees racism everywhere- literally everywhere, but within themselves, where it, in fact, forms the majority of the problem- the American Leftist, the most hypocritical and hateful people on the planet.

Every symbol or image of an important item has been used by some asshat extremist at some point in time to represent them. I bet we could find a violent radical leftist who has used the Gadsden flag.

Only a very few symbols are genuinely representative of abhorrent ideology, and even then I wouldn't be surprised if the deeper origins were something different. e.g. the KKK pointy hat and robes pretty clearly identify the wearer as a racist.

If the Biden administration keeps insisting freedom and liberty are symptoms of “domestic terrorism”, they might need to be reminded of how the Gadsden flag came to be.

The patch in question was part of half a dozen other patches of semi-automatic weapons. The student has removed the semi-automatic patches. As a school district, we will continue to ensure all students and employees can learn and work in a safe and nurturing environment. The student returned to class without incident after removing the patches of semi-automatic weapons from the backpack.

I get the sense that whomever initiated this, and pushed to enforce the encounter, after all the firearm patches were removed but, not the Gadsden Flag, they continued to press the issue. This is when Jaiden said no, here's why... thus the story took-off.

Young Jaiden has a better grasp of history and likely a sense of irony given how this entire episode evolved.

If some kind soul here would care to send me a sticker or patch depicting the image and the motto, I'd be proud to display it/wear it on behalf of those for whom it is banned.

I'd add that I'm proud to say that in no way imaginable were any of my ancestors connected with your Rebellion and Revolution - indeed, my own father was imprisoned by the British Government - at the age of 17 and a bit - for his part in the explosive re-modelling of a police station in the early '20's.

Where government of any kind- remote or local - gets so far up its own ass that it can't smell the coffee, so to speak, it needs taking behind the bicycle sheds and given stern 'talking to'.

Back in the day, I reckon I would have made a great colonial marksman.
