I’m in manufacturing, not rocket science, but I see your point. The counter, however, is that sometimes we reach the end of our knowledge. At that point, we have to try things we can’t fully predict, and see what fails. That’s when we really start making positive progress. Edison is often credited (maybe correctly, maybe not) with having said something to the effect of, “I now know a hundred ways NOT to make a light bulb,” right? One jerky fella I used to work with said about new processes, “let’s go ahead and fail quickly, so we can get that out of the way and get on with learning how to do it right.” God bless America. | |||
