Do you think this guy had a death wish? If the claims made against him are true, this guy must have had a screw loose. What adult American doesn't know that you cannot make threats such as these without severe consequences? And apparently, he made a habit of it.

They tried to talk to him. He told them to get a warrant and they did exactly that. Just what the Hell did he expect?

Don't quote this fool. I don't want his threats on the pages of this forum. We've seen this type of thing before, when someone inserts the types of firearms they have into their threats. I've always felt like this was asinine and seems to indicate that the person talking about their "suppressed M&P" or their M24 or whatever is evincing impotence, as if declaring what kinds of firepower they have is some sort of talisman. Just freakin' weird. I understand frustration with our ridiculous government, but this kind of thing helps no one who loves this country.

He was nutz. Had to be to behave as he did. I don’t like government either but it’s not time for revolutionary wild eyed behavior. It’s never time for crazy behavior.

I’ve seen the headline on my phone. I’m surprised the media hasn’t connected this person yet to Trump’s mega MAGA white supremacist nationalist.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Not just looney but dumb, too. If you really want to start something bad, like killing government officials, you go online and broadcast your intent to the whole world?

People have gone over the edge on both sides, and even in the middle.

A friend of mine is a manager in a Residential Rehab & Care facility here. Two weeks ago the son of a patient came and got her at midnight, drove to Maryland, abandoned her in his vehicle, grabbed a bag of weapons and hailed a cab asking to be taken to the White House. Apparently DC cabbies have a procedure for that and he was arrested shortly after.

MY friend had to fly to DC to retrieve the patient and bring her back AFTER spending all of that day with a group from the Secret Service field office in Detroit who wanted to interview anyone and everyone who had any contact with her and him. It took over a week before the patient was cleared to be retrieved and returned.

Its my understanding that USSS/FBI looks into thousands of threats against Federal officials every year. I wondered if they had the manpower to seek out everyone who makes those threats. But its easy to see how they zeroed in on this idiot.

Thanks, Para, for putting this in exactly the right perspective.

I was telling my wife yesterday that whenever any "mall ninja" braggart type shows up on SigForum, he is shot down by other SF members and Para. Also that gun safety is always dealt with in a very serious manner.

As a new CCW bearer, I have been aware of the need for self-control and awareness above all else, and avoiding a confrontation whenever possible.

I have learned so much here over the years, it's made me a better and safer gun owner.

He saved a lot of taxpayer money by wanting a shootout. No court expenses involved.

Certainly can't be too careful with nuts making those kinds of public threats. Bizarre that anyone would think Biden is actually integral to the leftist movement...guys a useful idiot with no real political convictions.

It has always amazed me that many people do not realize that threatening to kill someone is a crime and that includes a president, which is a separate crime in itself.

Now with the internet, what ever you post is forever and you can't take it back or make it disappear. The internet has for sure shown there are people out there that are just bat shit crazy.

Yeah, he had a few screws loose. The threats he was making, with the weird details, well it definitely garnered him some attention.

On the surface a person, and we've all run into these people, might say 'oh he was just blowing off steam'. His actions when approached put any of those foolish notions to rest immediately.

This guy was 100% crack pot and if he was hell bent on getting his name in the news, this was the best way.

From what he posted/did, the guy was clearly not all there mentally. You can't post threats like that on the internet and expect federal law enforcement to ignore it. He was also 74, frail, obese, and could only walk with the use of a cane.

I do not recall many (any?) pre-dawn raids of idiot leftists who made "credible" violent threats against POTUS on social media while Trump was in office.

It wasn't clear how long he's been saying stuff like this on public forums but I'm surprised he didn't get a serious look even sooner.

Lot's of people seem to be not very aware since most of the school shooters and other mass casualty crazies telegraph their intentions and exhibit extra strange behavior beforehand.

It's a real head-scratcher, that.
They serve a warrant the morning biden landed in Utah. Wink

They haven't actually said what day they approached him at his house without a warrant, and he told them to come back with a warrant.... So they did.
