Some of you guys better not go to Germany! Some of the best mannered GSD's laying under the tables while owners ate or had a drink. Common practice. If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER

I don't fly often, but every flight story I have involves dog shit in an airline cabin or non stop barking, some both. As for the dogs in restaurants, I won't eat anywhere that allows them if I know in advance. If I go and find out there's dogs in there, I'll ask to be seated away from them, or simply go elsewhere to eat depending on the situation. I am not comfortable in the presence of dogs. I've been bitten too many times, get reminded how dangerous they are every time I look at my face in the mirror. PS this thread has been fun to read. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

I wouldn't have a problem with well-behaved dogs … or children. I do see people taking dogs to places like Lowe's, or gun shows. For the most part they are reasonably well behaved. One guy did bring a dog into a laundromat where I was doing my own, and it shit on the floor. He did clean it up, but it shouldn't have done it in the first place. (Laundromats are worthy of a rant thread on their own.)

Excuse me, Excuse me, Excuse me, Excuse me, I had to say it four times at Farm and Fleet yesterday Because 7 people had to look at a ten day old Yorkie . Right snack dab in the center of the main isle. I was in a good mood when I went in, I was I really was. I wasn't so much angry as I was disappointed . If it ain't someone not selling an old man wine, or the size of my pressed meat sausages have shrunk, or there are dogs around me and I don't like it. Honest answer is yall starting to sound like some real BITCHES. If you don't like something take your ass somewhere else or go home. If I take my dog to an establishment where the OWNER of the property has given consent, please be the patron that comes and expresses their opinion to me, sounds like some of yall need a rude GD awakening as to just how much your opinion of things matters. As has been stated, if you don't like it, take it up with the owner or spend your time and money elsewhere. When the fuck did the lot of yall start thinking everyone else should share your opinions, likes, and dislikes? Again, sounding like some bitches. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Mistake Not... |
Wait, isn't this the "What's your deal" and "Hacked off? Pitch your bitch" section? People get to bitch here right? BUT I have no dog in this fight, literally. I'm a cat guy, but like dogs. I get that some people don't want them around at times, but if you don't own the joint why do you get to tell others what to do? I'll fight and die for your right to express your feelings on this (or some other) forum, but that's the line. Don't express them to the person with the dog in the place that allows the dog in there. Go home and post online or to the folks who have expressed a care in your feelings. And don't get hacked off if someone says you're wrong. And vice versa. People can be (more or less) civil about feelings and expressing them right? ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. We eat out a couple times a week, weather permitting we eat on outdoor patios. Mostly at small, family owned places. We bring our dog with us, she's well behaved and well known by the staff at these places. We live in an area where folks vacation, not unusual for people to approach us, asking if they can pet our dog, theirs are at home. We do not bring our dog inside at restaurants, Home Depot or anyplace else. ________________________________ "Nature scares me" a quote by my friend Bob after a rough day at sea.

Yeah, not a fan of dogs in dining establishments...not even really a fan of dogs inside the house, but folks love their pets and I wouldn't expect people to base the rules of their business around my preferences. I've noticed pets are welcome in more and more places...been seeing a lot of dogs in bars.

While I'm not deathly allergic to dogs, it does show up on tests. Some folks have it really bad and they have my sympathy for situations like this. Otherwise I have no problem personally with dogs in public access places, depends much more on the owner how that turns out.

Which is exactly what seems to have happened. Nobody has said they confront the owner of the dog. Nobody has said they want to ban dogs in restaurants or other public places. Nobody is denying anyone their desire to bring their dog anywhere. Someone came to the pitch your bitch section and pitched a bitch. Some agreed, some didn’t, and others clearly took it personally and started to make things up. Pale Horse, This goes beyond pitching a bitch, this is flat out insulting. Insinuating someone needs therapy. I counter with, and let me be clear, I don’t want Gustofer or anyone to “assume” that I assume everyone likes or accepts my dogs, I want all to know, I don’t give a rats ass if you do or not. I’m not asking to bring it to your personal property. I obey laws, rules, and property owner’s desires when it comes to my dogs. No part of that equations includes how anyone else feels about it. 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

This thread and a few others lately remind me of that video of the two dogs on different sides of a gate just barking and snarling their asses off at each other then as soon as someone opens the gate and they're face to face they change their demeanor and are all like, "oh, hey man. Wassup?" Only people on keyboards are so opinionated and rude.

Staring back from the abyss |
I see. It's all about "me". Me and what I want. I don't care about what anyone else wants. It's my RIGHT! I can do whatever I want whenever I want and you have to accept it. That sounds vaguely familiar for some reason. There's the concept of common courtesy that you might want to look into. It boggles the mind that some seem to go out of their way to aggravate others. And yes, if a person is unable to go anywhere without their pet, then they do need some therapy. That "you" was a collective "you", BTW, and not directed towards nor attacking Rogue. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Gustofer, Do you really believe that people taking their pup with them somewhere is a conscious effort to "go out of their way to aggravate others."? You're statement about needing therapy relies on your assertion of "unable to go anywhere without their pet". Where did that come from? This was just about a restaurant. You seem very invested in needing others to share your opinions and beliefs. You don't need validation from others to make yours valid but you will always feel unhappy if you can't let go of your need to control people's thoughts outside of your own. I'm not trying to be condescending.
