That’s awesome she is recovering so well! When her time comes to ring that damned bell, have a Louisville Slugger as an option too…a righteous GI Jane beating is well earned!!!

What a wild username to have in this thread! No offense, of course, and I love the Louisville slugger idea- they do have those mini ones.

Not much to report other than treatments are every three weeks until January.

Then she gets to ring the bell.

Speaking of bells, here is the appreciation plaque progress. I am awaiting the actual wooden plaque to attach to the stand now. I had the CNC room make the stand and then paint department painted it for me. Interior parts inventory (Hasiba, whom I defibrillated) gave me the little felt feet for the bottom. Every department is assisting me assembling it as their own little part.

I'll post it up when done and a video of Tabs ringing the bell and presenting this to the oncology department.

Awesome that many are pitching in on the project.

I am looking forward to hearing about the bell ringing in January.

I go in for my six month post chemo check-up in three weeks.

Tabs just had her next to last chemo treatment.

March 11th is her final and she gets to ring the bell. She's stoked and can't wait. It's been a very rough year. Her hair is returning and it's about 2 inches out now and has come back curly. She is beyond THRILLED with curly hair that she won't have to perm. LOL

On March 16th we will be celebrating at Wolf Mountain Winery for the brunch with a very special guest. Wink

I'll post up video of her ringing the bell and presenting the award of appreciation to the oncology staff.

I clicked on this tab because I found out yesterday that a really good friend has breast cancer. She is a great person and is devastated and reading through this post I am both sick to my stomach and heartened by your wife's experience. I'm so glad she is doing well and I hope for something similar to my friend. Thank you for the bravery of posting this experience.

This chapter comes to a close today. 2024 will be known as the lost year.
Today was Tabitha's day. Her other son and his wife came down from Royston, GA to see her ring the bell. The son that lives with us had to sleep for work tonight. Besides he's been through the whole ordeal and sent me with money to take his brother out to lunch.

She gave everyone in the ward a pink breast cancer awareness pen and when her IV line was removed it was time. I went out to the waiting room and got her family and the staff came to the bell for the celebration. She the senior nurse with the award I had made and they were in tears over it.

The best goodbye you can give in a cancer ward is I hope I never see you again.

Thursday we have the port removed and the Sunday brunch at Wolf Mountain Vineyards with a very special guest. Wink

Reading this today and my screen got blurry with happiness.

My wife passed away 4 years ago from cancer and I followed your journey. Very happy that your wife was able to ring that bell.

I went through that battle with my girlfriend's cancer beginning 16 years ago, followed by a year of surgeries, radiation, and recovery taking over a year.

Congratulations on the win!
