I am not arguing with para's quote in any way.
It makes sense like jhe's does.

Sometimes it takes me a while to get things right and today everyone was privvy to my evolutionary thought process.

For some, they can get it quick, for me, it sometimes comes slow.

If I was outside looking in, the answers are easily cut and dry.
Being inside looking out is a bit different.
The seemingly obvious can be harder to determine given all the competing interests and things going on right now. The plate is more full than I am used to.

It's the you can't see the forest for the trees.
I have to work myself through the trees and find high ground so I can see the picture again.
I have a lot of trees to deal with currently, trust me.

But that God's timing thing, I have been dealing with that since I can remember.
It's a doozie. The trick is to make sure it doesn't paralyze you.

It reminds me of voting and choosing not to vote.
In a way, not voting is voting in that you are affecting the vote. Choosing not to vote is voting. Really.

It terms of my timing neurosis, inaction can be as serious as action because it contains ramifications. So, inaction is really an action.

I, too, believe that you will see 2017. It is said that people talk to God for two reasons, to ask for something and to thank Him, never just to say hello. That being said that doesn't mean that God isn't there all of time for us, in all of our lives.

Another for as long as I can remember:
I rarely pray for myself. It just doesn't feel right. It seems selfish for me. I do thank him a lot though for what he has given me.
Praying for others is a snap and easy and the right thing to do.

LBJ

Like I said before I was on votrient for about three month (last November until this February). On February 2nd my docs switched to Navolamab or Opdivo. I've not had any side affects. I have improved kidney function. I also have scans set up for June 2nd. Do your self a favor and ask your doctors to switch you as well.

I understand, sort of the same thing as being better (easier) to give than to receive.

That's the one that is done at interval through something called infusion, right?
If so, that is what they are going to do.

Hi Tom.

I don't really know what to say, but I wanted to leave a quick note and let you know that I am thinking about you.

There is nothing I can say that hasn't already been said, But you are in my prayers. Hoping that continued treatment is the answer.

So true. I think the same thing that prevents me from praying for myself is the same reason I have trouble accepting gifts. It was unfair for me to refuse gifts as it insults the giver who wanted nothing more than for me to feel good.

It's been said to me that I have a self worth problem or something, maybe even self esteem to be that way.
That's not it though.

It's a petty selfish thing with me, both traits I find not good and I try to avoid them where possible.
However, I have gotten better at receiving gifts.

Jealousy is another basic instinct I try to avoid. Nothing good ever comes with that powerful emotion, it's always bad.

it soes not bother me in the least when someone at the cancer center at PT says they just went into remission.
It makes me happy, never jealous.

They seem to go hand in hand with me.

I wish I could say that I have been able to work through those issues myself. That would be a lie. I'm a little better at than I was when I was younger, however I am definitely still a work in progress.

It's not easy being cheesy. Or is that cheesey?

Oh how I do hope that as the Votrient leaves my body that taste will return. Oh man, that would be great.
My mother had lost both taste and smell due to massive pred doses for 10 years.
My situation is different, smell is 100%, taste is pretty much gone.

In my PT class, everyone on radiation and chemo has the same complaint.... little or no taste.

Yes, us being cheesy humans an all. It's our lot to be such.
I suppose it falls in line with lipstick on a pig.
We humans are an odd lot.

It may seem silly, but currently, the biggest near term thing Iam looking forward to is the arrival of my Hedley pocket holster for the Keltec. Just a few more days.
Funny how life is... I have a lot on my plate yet a simple pleasure is what I am thinking about.

It's a good thing that you are deriving pleasure from the simple things, there are those who lose sight of that many times.

Yes that is correct. Every two week like clockwork my wife drives me up to Baltimore for bloodwork and my hour long sit in the chair. Whole thing take roughly 3 hours on a good day.

I could have said sex. I once read somewhere that males picture female body parts in ther heads like a hundred times a day.

That's got to be a low ball figure based on my brain.

Speaking of brains, has anyone here seen the Phoenix University ad with the Wizard of Oz song?
What a great positive message in this day and age.

Here it is:

Oh and thanks to everyone for posting a lot of back and forth today.
It really did help.

It is a 2 way street here and I got a lot out of it.
Thanks again.

Now that the Votrient is leaving my system over the coming days, I hope to knock our house off it's foundation.

The quality of life on Votrient was pretty poor. The side effects were numerous and intense.
We will see how the next drug fares with me.

One thing that has always helped me with prayer is this passage from Romans 8:26...it has always helped me feel better about it...

"Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."

To me...it tells me that many times my very thoughts and concerns are conveyed to our creator as prayers even though I may not speak them to him...I take great comfort in that...

God bless you and yours lbj during this time.
