This photo is about a month old.
Miles is demonstrating his knowledge on how to use the nasal wash bottle and showing his disdain for the stuff.
In other words, he's showing a little character.

I just got home from the oncologist's office.

The scan I had last week shows that the kidney cancer stage 4 is still pretty much dormant for now. It's not advancing, just on hold.

Just on hold works for me.
I have another year then.

All glory to God!

Thank you for continuing to share. Support from an invisible friend sent your way.

If I may be so bold, how are things on your religious journey? For a time, you shared the intensity. I hope the passion continues. Even if there are slips or slides, one foot forward continues the journey.

Bless you and all you touch.

Perspective -

When are you able to say, "I have another year, vs. I have a year."

Congrats and happiness sent to you and yours.

Yes, there has been a subtle shift in my thinking that shows when I write.
Thanks for pointing the [perspective thing out.
It's definitely there.

Sometimes I don't see the changes in me.

Like I say all the time, "I may not be a good one but I am an Apostolic Pentecostal."

Many twists and turn and changes and things going on with my life. That will never change, I think.
Fact is, I just got home from Bible study.

From my perspective, you have been and are an amazing example of a man of faith. I have never met you, yet I feel your love for the Lord radiating out.

Some of the most powerful messages I have read in the scriptures have come from men speaking out while in the midst of great trials and tribulation. Most of the time those people expressed they felt they were imperfect, too.

I'm very grateful to hear you will have another year to spend with your Grandson. May this blessing continue for you and your family.

That chef is under 30 years of age. Such a shame to go that young.

Prayers are a good thing, thanks.

Tomorrow I get my new hearing aids.
About 2 months back, I developed a loud hissing sound in my ears that's probably tinnitus.
I never get a break from it.

I took a hearing test and a lot of the treble is missing.
Well, the test merely confirmed what I already knew.
My only regret is that I put off the hearing aids for about a year and developed tinnitus in the meantime.
Maybe I could have nipped it in the bud, who knows.

Mostly I am tired of not being able to hear my daughters' voices, though some might say I may rue the day when I do, but I don't really think so, just had to throw that out here.
This was also the first summer where I couldn't hear the birds. That was very strange. I could see 'em, just couldn't hear them.

I am getting some high end Oticons which seem to have the best treble specs I need.

I guess I will add the tinnitus and the hearing aids to my list of challenges then.

It seems normal to me to have a list of challenges here in my old age at 63.
Most old people do.

Some might say I am not old enough to be in my old age.
I say that every life needs an old age, so mine is just earlier than many.
