That Blancpain Swatch the case is a 1 piece mold and after dropping in the movement and affixing the crystal they seal it from the front.

So you can't get into one without breaking the watch. Stupid ass design found on all Swatches.

If it could be done I would fix it for you for free.

It's kinda funny... my calipers at work are Husky (from Home Depot... gift from Dad), and mine at home are Mitutoyo. You'd think it would be the other way 'round.

I would think it would be the other way around too. Though good to have quality at home. I was so used to Starrett dial calipers, I never got into digitals.

Not long ago, I picked up this Seiko SpeedTimer "Night Vision" Black Solar Chronograph 100 Meter Watch SSC923 for a bit over $400.00 on eBay. I find most blacked out watches too difficult to read, but this one has indices and hands that have a very readable green finish that works well in the light and has good lume too. I used a VGreen strap to make it more comfortable than the OEM and to dress it up a bit.

I love the blacked out look with the green lume paint! That strap works perfectly on that watch! Very nice!


Here is a family pic of my 200m & 300m baby marine master divers. I just noticed that the new wave dial baby MM picked up an additional 100m in water resistance. These gmt divers from Seiko are really nice!

I hadn’t heard about that but it sounds like fun. The Oris Kermit is a watch I will probably own eventually. Let me know if you are going. I have some jewelry repairs I need to pick up from the boutique along with a decision I need to make on a watch they are holding for me temporarily.

Stickman, that event is September 5 and 6. I'm making a plan to run over there on the 5th if I can slip out of work early. I'd probably get there at about 5. I'll keep you posted.

Stickman: Thanks (re: My choice of strap for the Seiko Speedtimer). I think your Seiko pics really demonstrate how the gap between Seiko and Grand Seiko is really closing. Those dials are outstanding and I believe Seiko is now offering some of their watches with Spring Drive.
