I agree. Interesting to note that a CPO I picked up from TGS ~ a year ago still came in a "Sig Sauer" marked red box, not the newer SIGARMS designation. Or did they switch back? I can't keep track... Roll Eyes

Yes, they did switch back a while ago. Razz

Nope.
I only have the blue and black new-style cases. The 226 case belongs to my father. I believe he purchased it back in '85 when his department started allowing officers to carry semi-autos. At that time officers had to buy their own if they wanted a semi. The box stayed in his locker until he retired in 08.

P220parts,
Thanks. Got a date for the P220 box?
What's the story on the 10mm? Is this something besides the Gray Guns conversion? I'm in the dark on this one. Date? Is the box white, or translucent?

The P220 is 1980 and the translucent box is what I keep the 220 10mm in. It is a box that never went into production and a SIG fan managed to keep a few from the dumpster. Was told there were several colors made as well.

The photo contributions are greatly appreciated, but please try to put a date (and gun model, if not obvious) with your boxes.

Those are really nice to see. Boxes are sort of like a time capsule. It's interesting to see the styles over the years.

My latest box aquisition is this blue cardboard box that contained a 9mm P220 "Assembled By RPS". The proof date on the gun is 1982 (JC).
