Any of you absolute “no chance” guys change your minds? I’m getting ready to put it on in a few minutes…I’ve seen the others from this current universe more times than I can count…I owe it to myself to watch the final flick and close this period out. Review to follow…

it's out on 4k disc later this month. Reserved a rental. If it's disappointing and woke at least it only cost me $3.

It isn't woke. It's not necessarily the best of the DC films, but it's a decent sendoff for the most recent Bond era.

Bought the 4k disc of this for $26…. That made in cheaper than seeing it in the theater with popcorn.

Not the best Bond film (for me that’s Skyfall), certainly not the worst (that’s the one with the invisible car, whatever it was called).

Without spoilers, Bond interacting with a child is something new and added something like a new layer to Bond.

I believe they edited out a lot of the female 007 character…. One of the scenes they left in seemed very clunky… my guess is that test audiences didn’t accept some of the feminist crap that was in the original script.

I’m going to watch it again, but I certainly won’t put it into my disc player as often as I have with Skyfall.

I thought it was solid. I actually dug the back and forth between Bond and Nomi. Far from the worst Bond film and not even the worst Craig film IMO. Honestly if anything let the movie down for me it was the villain. I feel like Rami Malik wast wasted and his villain was meh. He Started out solid but ultimately kinda meh.

For what it’s worth…….”James Bond Will Return”.

Hated it. The premise around the villain and his plan was decent, but the rest of the plot having to do with Bond and Madeleine, the lady OO, and the little insertion regarding Q's romantic life I found awful. Wish I had skipped it and I loved the other Daniel Craig installments.

I agree those bits were eye rolling, but all in all, it's an ok way to piss away a few hours. I liked it will enough for what it is. For me DC's Casino Royal was a kicked down door of a new Bond. And this was a reasonable send off for the old chap.

well said,

as I have said before, (not sure if in this thread, not going to look) I think the Craig films have overall been good,

some of the best since Live and let Die or Man w/ the Golden Gun,
seems after those 2, to me at least, things got too campy,
brosnan did a decent job, as did his predecessor, (cannot remember his name, but can see his face,,dammit) but they still were not as good as the craig films

I liked the way the shows were more gritty, and I guess somewhat realistic, and how they all tied in together with both a good back story not covered previously (bond's childhood etc) and the easter eggs to the past films

I watched it at the IMax and liked it. I also ordered it on BluRay and watched it again the other day. I thought it was good, not as good as Sky Fall, but still a decent send off for Daniel Craig.

I watched this tonight. I was a little underwhelmed by the villain, who was barely on the screen with no explanation as to how he became the successor to SPECTRE and Blofeld. What was his backstory as to how he became the supervillian?

Overall it was a workmanlike movie although, to me, it seemed more of a generic action film, rather than a Bond film. They could really have plugged anybody into the lead role.

Sorry to see Craig move on, but I was glad to see that 'James Bond will return' after the credits.

I didn’t hate it but I didn’t like it much either. Picture quality and sound quality were stunning. Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos were both absolutely stellar. Superb from that point of view.

But the plot, etc, meh. Of the DC films I really liked the first one a lot, and each one since deteriorated significantly from that first one with this one being the absolute worst. By the end I was happy to see DC get lit up with missiles. I was hoping for a nice send off for him but this was a bit of a stinker.

I started to go see it then I realized, I have missed a Bond movie?

Yep, I have never seen Sceptre. I cannot explain it I never made a decision to NOT see it, I just never have.

So I tracked down the 4k Craig collection and also purchased No Time to Die in 4k and WTH mind as well pick up Dune in 4k. The wife texted me on the way home. What did you just buy at Best Buy for $104? I dont know how she knows, but she always knows. Anyway, I figure it is all a wash, I probably saved that much by not seeing these last two in the theater. I just cant take the talkers, and phone idiots anymore.

I watched it last night. I didn't think it was the woke piece of crap people had made it out to be. Was it the best DC bond? No, was it bad, no. I rate it a b -

You’re in our club now. SO you can be an official member. The membership is called “Fuck you”. As in fuck your commercial cineplexes with the ADD youngsters and phone interruptions. I built my HT in 2019 due to it and am never going back, ever. 4k discs I wait on. Rent (like the new Dune) and if it’s worth it I buy it.

When the theater here (regal movies) went to a subscription model that is when I found I could never sneak into a theater in the afternoon anymore. There is always a small group of kids just running around cutting up. I guess there parents just drop them at the mall and they watch movies and goof off all day.
My dad always called the uncles until he found me work, my ass spent the summers doing construction yard cleanup, landscaping etc.

The wife (since I bought them) is making me re-watch all four of the Craig movies and THEN I will get to watch No Time to Die. She is an evil, mean spirited person. Smile

So a warning about the 4k disc. The digital copy is Itunes only so back it goes for me. I guess spoilers even though its been out for a minute.

I appreciated that it wasn't woke but I felt like the other 007 wasn't really particularly central to the plot. I'm not down on the acting but I found that I didn't really give even half a shit about the plot. Unless I really missed something, bad guy is bad because he's bad which I'm not a fan of. I had thought there might be a bit more to it with the ice thing but not so much.

The pausing to almost break the fourth wall with the explanation of the elevator magnets was ridiculous. I've had trouble with all of the films since Quantum of Solace with Casino Royale being a movie I loved. It's just missing....something.

Anyways, won't stop me from seeing whatever comes next as long as they don't get all stupid and woke. Worth a watch, I didn't feel like I wasted my time but I'm not sure how often I'd watch it again.

that's the way to do it,

the wife (not a 007 fan) agreed to go to th theater with me for the last one and I made her watch Spectre (she had seen Skyfall since it was on cable every night for the past few months)

it helped to refresh the story line, eps since the final is basically a continuation of sorts of Spectre

Typically Bond films have ended with "James Bond will return in "movie name"

IIRC this wasn't in the ending credits, so, will 007 return but not James Bond.

In no Bond movie ever does Bond die in the end, something else different about this version.

Guessing we'll see a new 007 series as to who plays 007, that opens up the casting to men, women, non binary, gay, not gay, or what ever you feel your gender may be to play 007...

It was in the credits at the very end (5:57). Specifically says "James Bond".
