These songs started popping up on Pandora recently and I am really enjoying them. Started poking around on YouTube and I guess it is mainly AI.
Maybe some folks can tell just by listening. In this instance I can’t. I know some folks use AI to create songs new songs by actual artists which is really weird in my book.
This however is original stuff. These two songs are killer and the rest of the stuff they have is pretty good as well.

This must be a new use of the term 'original'.

It's fake. Why we lie to ourselves that fake is good is beyond me.

High-Fructose corn syrup is better than sugar or honey, ethylene fuel is better than just fuel, the food pyramid is better than 1,000 years of nutrient based history.

We need to stop the lies, stop the fantasies, stop reaching for utopia, stop the reach for something better to counter our personal poor decisions.

Be adults and stand on your experiences, know that is real and what is not real.

I don't share the hatred for AI. It doesn't bother me one way or another.

Black92LX,

I understand where you're at, dude. As a recently born-again Christian and recovering "metal head", I have done no shortage of investigation in the pursuit of Christian metal. I have come across some of the AI stuff myself, and I suppose I understand the efforts of these folks, because I (like you) realize that there are few options in Christian metal.

I, at this point in time, can't knowingly consume AI-generated music.

I recommend the first two albums by Phinehas:
Thegodmachine
The Last Word is Yours to Speak

In my opinion, those albums are peak Christian metal. The lyrics are as up-front as I've heard in the metal genre.

Another good band, though not as "metal" is Sent By Ravens. Their album Our Graceful Words is very good.

I know, as well as you, that there are others in the hard rock genre. These two are my favorites though.

What part of it is AI? Is it being divulged or is there deception about what is/isn't AI?

Whether liked or not AI will continue to evolve and advance. There will be those that use it and those that don't.

Could it be compared to something like corded power tools vs battery powered tools? In the beginning batteries weren't to be trusted, didn't have enough power etc. Now they are all the rage.

I am not trying to convince for or against, but simply offering a different perspective and food for thought.

Black,

Take me to Eternity 'visualizer' creeps me out a little. So I minimized it and just listened to the music.
Seriously, your right it hits. Monsters is better and left me wanting more.

According to the Facebooks, This is created by 'Kylee' out of Tuscon,AZ. Definitely used Red and Skillet to train the AI engine.

As long as they are not ripping off someone or taking away from another artist, lets do this. I have had a ton of fun the past few years following Stryper more closely. Some of their new stuff is great.

But no one is going to pay for the album, there is no grinding out live performances, and I am not sure it will do well even on the Social platforms. Which is interesting because it is not half bad.

I mean as long as I know it's Gen AI music. Doesn't bother me. But if it's Gen AI pretending or being sold as actual human musicians. That I have a problem with.

But I didn't think it was bad.

One thing I have found, when it comes to "verifying" Christian hard rock or metal, is the liner notes typically are a good indicator. As an example, here's some details from the "thank you" portion of the liner notes with Phinehas first album:

Drummer's first thanks goes to "The living, Triune God".

Guitarist first thanks goes to "My Lord and savior Jesus Christ, who gives me strength".

Other guitarist first thanks goes to "God, for pointing me in the right direction".

Bassist first thanks goes to "Jesus Christ my Savior who pursues me with grace deeper than I'll ever know".

The vocalist opts to close his thank you notes with "Most of all I thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who is more faithful than I am not, let all the earth keep silent before Him".

I have been in this game for 25+ years we have tons of options. It can just be hard to find if you don’t know where to look. There is no easy way to find it in one place.

I don’t get myself into all these sub genre ideas. Is it hardcore, metalcore, praise core, death metal, blah blah blah.
Does it hit and is it good is all that matters to me.

Project 86 Drawing Black Lines album is likely one of the greatest hard Christian albums.
The late 90s early 2000s likely gave us the best there is.
Demon Hunter
Blindside
Zao
Living Sacrifice
Stavesacre
Underoath (sadly not Christians anymore)
Dogwood
Strong Arm
Devil Wears Prada
Man the list goes on and on.
Some newer stuff
Sleeping Giant
War of Ages
Behold the Beloved
Fit For a King
Wolves at the Gate

Best thing I have found is to make a Pandora Channel for Project 86 and Demon Hunter and give a thumbs up to what you really like.
That is how I find new stuff like this Fragments of Tomorrow.

I don’t know which is AI and which is him. The info on the YouTube he clearly states it’s an AI blend with all the topics coming from his personal life experiences.

^^^ and while The Devil Wears Prada and Fit For A King may have some Christians in the band they no longer consider themselves a Christian band anymore.

I’ll add a few to the list

Impending Doom
Convictions
Cultist
Bloodlines
No Treaty
Confessions of a Traitor
Becoming the Archetype
Holy Name (The new band from Tommy Green of Sleeping Giant)
Disciple
Advent
Oh Sleeper
Haste the Day
For Today
IRAE

Maybe we should start a Christian metal/rock/deathcore/praisecore/gorship thread. Razz
