I am going to listen to it today, Dave Brubeck's 'Time Out' was described to me as the 'Back in Black' of jazz.

I thought these seemed familiar

https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...700072584#6700072584

But to update since then, Error from The Warning is a new perfect album.

Also, both albums from the Japanese band Penthouse.

I haven’t heard the whole album but Joe Morello is one of my all time favorites.

Pretty good lineup you guys.

Back when I did retail, there was a music store down the street that stocked the MFSL gold CDs.

Seemed kinda silly to pay that much for a CD back then, but little did I know how good the music was that I was stocking up on.

Most all of them turned out to be timeless classics.

For the list I'd have to add:

Joe Satriani Flying in a Blue Dream

Steve Vai Sex and Religion

There's clearly several handfuls I could drop on the thread, but most you'd have heard of, or have even thought of yourself. Instead I'll underline what Mark said. If you put some time to fantasticboom, I think many will appreciate the layered, musically rich and seriously unique catalog of work in these albums. I've been captured by them for most of the last year.

How to build a hole - fantasticboom
-- check out the title track to get a flavor of it.

that which cost me nothing - fantasticboom
-- the whole thing is superb, but if you want to start with two, "you don't want what love it" and "(a)ugust and everything after.

An often listened to album from my youth deserves a shout-out; Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water. Here's a little of the story:

Lots of excellent Rush material out there. For me the brilliance from start to finish on entire albums started with Moving Pictures and ended with Power Windows. All very different albums.

Bat Out Of Hell needs to be mentioned too.

Meatloaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Billy Joel - Songs In The Attic
Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music
Jason Isbell - Southeastern
Bob Seger - Against the Wind

Those albums were all great. I could listen to any one of them for an entire road trip and not be bored. If I had to narrow it down to one, it would be Billy Joel.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
