Two Texas bands.

Several great tunes from UK groups bring back good memories of college work-study assignments (monitoring incoming cable/sat TV signals) where I could watch VH-1 with no problem.

A tip of the hat to The Avengers.

Grew to be a fan of Swing Out Sister after college (thanks to a Smooth Jazz radio station locally).

This one got a lot of airplay.

..and these guys are still around and have a new album releasing Sept. 27.

More ladies. This was about the best quality video on YT; almost posted another video (Walking Down Your Street), one with Randy Quaid trying to walk like them.

And some Miami sounds

Here are some "gems" from the 70s:

Rick Dees – 'Disco Duck'
Starland Vocal Band – 'Afternoon Delight' ...
Paul Anka – '(You're) Having My Baby' ...
Debby Boone – 'You Light Up My Life' ...
The Captain and Tennille – 'Muskrat Love' ...
Rupert Holmes – 'Escape (The Pina Colada Song)' ...
Terry Jacks – 'Seasons In The Sun' .

You want more? I got a lotta more!

Robert Palmer. I may have heard this one more than anything else released in the '80s. Remastered edition.

Another one that sticks with me. Sorry, this is a remaster of the original; no scenes of Christie Brinkley in it, but if not mistaken he's drinking a new Coca-Cola.

Patti Labelle

Jody Watley (this is from '87); still performing in 2024.

Wanted to put this one in earlier, but most clips were longer and focused more on the movie.

James Brown

Frequently played on VH-1; yep, I still have the cassette.

Sade, covering Timmy Thomas' "Why Can't We Live Together." She could look and sound beautiful just reading a meatloaf recipe or a phone book.
