Two Texas bands. "I’m not going to read Time Magazine, I’m not going to read Newsweek, I’m not going to read any of these magazines; I mean, because they have too much to lose by printing the truth"- Bob Dylan, 1965

Several great tunes from UK groups bring back good memories of college work-study assignments (monitoring incoming cable/sat TV signals) where I could watch VH-1 with no problem. A tip of the hat to The Avengers. Grew to be a fan of Swing Out Sister after college (thanks to a Smooth Jazz radio station locally). This one got a lot of airplay. ..and these guys are still around and have a new album releasing Sept. 27.

Wolf Trap, Tuesday PM this guy and these guys, saw Squeeze with the Psych Furs 2x's in the past year or so, and both were excellent but then again, we have seen Squeeze maybe 10 times and PFurs 5 or 6 or more https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

Imagination and focus become reality |
Here are some "gems" from the 70s: Rick Dees – 'Disco Duck' Starland Vocal Band – 'Afternoon Delight' ... Paul Anka – '(You're) Having My Baby' ... Debby Boone – 'You Light Up My Life' ... The Captain and Tennille – 'Muskrat Love' ... Rupert Holmes – 'Escape (The Pina Colada Song)' ... Terry Jacks – 'Seasons In The Sun' . You want more? I got a lotta more!

Robert Palmer. I may have heard this one more than anything else released in the '80s. Remastered edition. Another one that sticks with me. Sorry, this is a remaster of the original; no scenes of Christie Brinkley in it, but if not mistaken he's drinking a new Coca-Cola.

Patti Labelle Jody Watley (this is from '87); still performing in 2024. Wanted to put this one in earlier, but most clips were longer and focused more on the movie. James Brown Frequently played on VH-1; yep, I still have the cassette. This message has been edited. Last edited by: rat2306,

^Always liked Sade's "No Ordinary Love", but it's from '92. Annie Lennox popped into my head a couple of posts previous. So;

His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm. |
Sade, covering Timmy Thomas' "Why Can't We Live Together." She could look and sound beautiful just reading a meatloaf recipe or a phone book.
