Several of the shots in the trailer look lifted straight out of Macross Plus, which itself was heavily influenced by Top Gun, so full circle I guess.

I don't care if the first one had plot holes like Swiss cheese, I want airplane porn! It may not be a -14 but, an -18 will have to do.

Need to call up some friends so we can sit around a shower room in towels....talk about man stuff.

I really love the new camera shots that look like they are in a real cockpit and really flying. It just looks amazing.

I am rarely jealous, but if he really did get to launch off of a carrier I have serious envy.

Seems like there's at least one Tomcat in the movie. It's shown at the end of the trailer.

In story probably got busted a couple times for buzzing the tower holding his rank back.

Even Captain Admiral Kirk got busted.

No fan of Tom Cruise, so maybe eventually I'll watch it free on hulu or something.

There are stories that circulated a while back that they resurrected one just for the movie. And it is seen in the final shot . . .

What I'm wondering about is why he was wearing a pressurized suit helmet in one shot, as if he was a Blackbird or U-2 pilot?
