I saw that this morning. I rarely watch the podium, so I'd turned it off before then The Enemy's gate is down.

The news going around now is that Adrian Newey will go back to his engineering role and Jonathan Wheatley will come onboard as Team Principal from Audi. It's beginning to look like Mr. Stroll knows how to buy quality individuals but hasn't figured out how to run a team (including having his under-performing son in one of the cars). ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Leaving Audi high and dry? Does not speak well of the supposed highly respected Wheately, no? The season continues to be a flustercuck for us the fans. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

Seems a bit odd to me that an employee at that level wouldn't have some sort of an annual (or more) contract and Audi has done well so far this year for a new/revised team. Could also be a slow news week and part of the F1 rumor mill too with a lot of details missing. If true, Stroll Sr. must be offering a substantial incentive since Wheatley also moved from the UK to Switzerland to take this position. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

It appears this news is true. It's hard to have any respect for Lawrence Stroll and whatever team he owns. Despite poaching the "best" team talent and spending zillions, his neer-do-well son - crypto surfer or snow boarder- still drives for daddy. WTF... Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

I'll bet part of it is that he misses his wife, who is still in the UK. The question now is if he has to take "gardening leave and for how long" No, Daoism isn't a religion

Audi has announced Wheatley’s departure, so whatever contractual hurdles there were are moot. Probably Big Daddy Stroll just threw a bunch of money at Audi. IMHO, this is all about not tarnishing Newey’s star. He’ll still be in charge and making the decisions. Wheatley, will just be the public face that will all take the heat, and be disposable if needed.

Rumours are also of internal personal disagreements at Audi fostering this move. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. A few one-off liveries for Suzuka [my favorite track] VCARB Haas Mercedes Hoping for some color on the Cadillac, and that it can stay for the year. The Enemy's gate is down.

The VCARB looks fantastic, on what was already probably the best looking car on the grid The Haas isn't bad The Mercedes is a bit of a meh, IMO. Just a restyle to the front wing. The Enemy's gate is down.

What a schmozzle, to quote Hobbo. Won't limiting harvesting just lead to more instances of running out of full power on straights and such? You know, where the cars are zipping along and then suddenly look like someone threw out an anchor when a lot of their power evaporates. If the stoopid electricity is going to be part of the power plant, let them have and store as much as they freakin' can, all day, every day. This is like fuel capacity and flow limits, but worse. I saw that as well. From the F1 site's article:
My brain reads that as the opposite. With less recharge ability, wouldn't you lift earlier to get more charge into the battery? The Enemy's gate is down.

Every pass, every win, what do they mean? F1 has been victimized by it's own too-smart-by-half tech. The product is not enlightened, it's beclouded. Don't make me stop caring. Set the controls for the heart of the Sun.

I don’t think so. I think the limit is on the total amount of recharge per lap. Once you reach the total, you can’t get any more for the remainder of the lap. So, less recharging.

Hopefully the extra break time due to the Middle East cancellations will give them time to do some sort of reset to fix the problems. Seeing that incident with Bearman and Colapinto shows the amount of clipping that is needed and the speed differential. I can’t imagine how things will look on the one mile straightaway in Azerbaijan if changes aren’t made or Eau Rouge at Spa. Although the racing was made to sound great by the broadcast crew, this was all about battery management which isn’t racing to me. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

Bearman's crash was pretty crazy, amazing he walked [limped] away so easily. I don't think Eau Rouge will have a clipping issue, it's not that far from La Source, but by the end of Kemmel, they'll be well out of battery. Baku will be awful, the amount of derate there & they'll be crawling by T1. Monaco will be interesting, all that deployment and the unexpected loss of traction could put a few in the wall. Suzuka is my favorite track, and these cars take away from it a bit. Driver makes a dive & pass at Casio, only to be passed back on the front straight. The Enemy's gate is down.
