Making it complicated to watch doesn’t seem in line with other viewership growth objectives.

Easier than figuring out which ESPN channel things were on, which not only changed week to week, but also during the same weekend.

That, and the ever increasing cost of YTTV pushed me to F1TV.
The Apple side is the only confusing part right now. The F1TV side is the same as it was, once you like to your Apple acct.

AppleTV has a direct app on my TV & F1TV doesn't.

Another point on this, my Roku remote eats batteries at a much faster rate compared to my Samsung remote. Easily 3:1, and the Romu gets used significantly less, since it's only for F1TV

I'm also hoping for a button like the MLS one.

I have some pretty large TVs that I watch the broadcasts on. I would not want to have to screen mirror from the f1 ipad app to the TVs. I doubt that will be necessary, but they don't have my full confidence yet, either.

It will be interesting to see how the Apple TV setup is by the time the season actually starts. I think it’s definitely going to be improved over what we have right now, but I still suspect F1 TV will be superior overall.

Maybe they'll use next week's Bahrain test to work on the functionality

We also get access to F2, F3, Porsche SuperCup, and F1 Academy. We'll also get to see Colton Herta drive in F2, and since only half of F2 races have pit stops, that's 50% less of a chance his pit crew destroys his race.

Barcelona extended to 2032, to alternate years with Spa

Bummed that Spa will not be every year, easily one of my favorite tracks.

We've known Spa will rotate for over a year. Now we know what track it will rotate with. I would not be sad if I never saw another race at Catalunya especially if it keeps Spa on the schedule. The biggest unknown with putting Spa back full time relies on if the new cars can actually race if it starts to sprinkle.

They can just do a repeat of 2021 & take enough laps behind the SC to give points & cancel the race Razz

Except they can't give you a year of F1TV free this time because they'd have to clear it with Apple....

2025 and 2026 races have been setup on the Apple TV app, but as long as I still have access to F1TV, it's still easier to get their archives and watch the final week of Bahrain practice. Also on the AppleTV page, there's separate links to the Sky Sports coverage and the F1TV coverage for 2026 so you'll have to be careful which one you pick.

I've had Bahrain on [F1TV] in the background all day.

Will give AppleTV a shot for Australia & see how it is compared to F1TV.
In my case it'll be browser based for FP1/2 in the office & AppleTV app on my Samsung TV for FP1/Quali on Saturday.

I can’t imagine how the power tracks like Spa and Monza are going to be in this new battery management era.

Supposedly, there's a reevaluation after 6 races for what teams are allowed extra development work. We'll have Australia, China, Japan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Miami to see what's what and if any changes get made.
