Your Apple TV subscription is eligible for free F1.TV, whether you subscribe directly, as part of the Apple One bundle, or other means like carrier promotions.

So you simply have to download the app, not pay any additional fees, to get the better package?
Any idea who the broadcast team will use for this coverage?
I watched through the F1TV subscription last year and like them, or maybe just got used to them.
They were far better than the earlier US coverage from years past.

Pretty sure that's how it works. F1 included with an AppleTV subscription.
Hoping it's a sub-app & launches the F1TV app via Apple & it's the same setup within.

I prefer the SkyF1 commentary to the F1TV group.

I think I saw that you can link your F1TV app to your AppleTV account and still go in that way.

I've been running F1TV via a Roku stick since there isn't a native app for Samsung TVs. Will try the AppleTV app & see how it is. Would be nice to go to 1 remote vs having to keep tabs on the Roku remote.

I never had the Sky version so can't compare. I know people that saw both and seemed to like it, I just happened to get connected through the F!TV so that's all I've seen.
Just checked the search in Apple TV and there's no mention of F1 at this point, other than the movie.
I'm not much of a techie so I hope all that app and connection stuff is simple.

SkyF1 is the International feed during the sessions.
It's what all the older archive races were and I got used to it from that & the ESPN coverage, which was just piped in from SkyF1.

Just linked my Apple TV account to the F1TV appp. The process was pretty simple. You need to have a current AppleTV account and then can cancel your F1TV account if you currently have one.
I found the instructions to do this here
https://www.featureweekly.com/...ete-streaming-guide/
Looks like you will be able to watch the races on AppleTV or use the F1TV app to get to watch the race and get all the premium features.
I'm looking forward to this as ESPN's coverage of the 2025 season was very crappy last year as in not broadcasting all or most of the practices and qualifying or all the sprint races.

Thanks for that tip.
An amazingly simple and easy process. I simply clicked on my existing F1TV app on my iPad and it prompted me to click on the link and it was done.
This is actually less expensive than just the former annual subscription.
Just be sure to buy the annual subscription to Apple TV and switch it to the annual plan after the one month trial period. You pay $99 for the year that way instead of $12.99 a month.

Good tip.
But, IIRC, I was paying about $80/yr for the base F1TV pkg.
$20 isn't too terrible of an upcharge, plus the AppleTV content

Set up the F1 TV app on my iPad today. After registering, it asked if I wanted to link to my Apple TV account, said yes, and it connected seamlessly. Also set it up on my phone.

Those of you already on AppleTV and former users of F1TV

Are you able to run F1TV within AppleTV, or do you have to go through the F1TV app still?

And, if it runs directly in AppleTV, is the interface the same as the F1TV app?

I had the F1TV app on my I devices already from last year.
The Apple TV account was the set up/purchased using my windows computer that already had my itunes account.
Then I went back to my ipad and clicked on the F1TV app to open, a prompt came up asking if I wanted to sync and it was just one click to sync it.
Somewhere it mentioned if you want the full experience, whatever that means, you should open through the app. I think that means higher resolution or something like that, and some of the extra shows.
A learning experience. I'm ready for the real testing to start next week. Enough of the marketing introductions, I want to see them running and hopefully we can start to see who's got what.

You can run the F1TV app or watch a more limited race and features on AppleTV. On demand race playback will also be available on AppleTV.
See this link for a better explaination of how it works.

Got my AppleTV subscribed, don't see any F1 access in the app on my Samsung TV, nor via web browser.
Did get the F1TV app linked on my phone.

So much for being able to use it via AppleTV I guess. We'll see if it is any different tomorrow when testing is live.

Preseason testing Day 1. Looks like F1TV only has the last hour
And F1TV only, no Int'l feed/SkyF1. But Kravitz is in the pitlane, so maybe a testing only broadcast.
Still no option to watch via AppleTV that I can see, either.

Right, just the last hour.
Had hoped to just have it on in the background all day. Guess we don't get to see the first 7 hours.
Looks to be the same for the other 2 days, 1 hr of coverage [last hour of the day] and a post-day recap show.

But, good to see Cadillac in the midfield running.

Watching some of the replay & the day 1 wrap up, seems most of the teams are using a DRS-like [upward separation on the main wing] actuation on the rear wing. Alpine, pivoting the entire wing downward. Guess we'll see as pace increases, which is better.

Color me confused, but am I not able to see the programming on Apple TV without the F1tv linkage/subscription?

I've opened the Apple TV app on TV and computer and a search for F1 and Formula One just brings up F1-related movies....

Maybe they aren't carrying it themselves until season actually starts.

That's what I'm seeing as well.
You may have to create an F1TV account, if you didn't already have it, log in, and link to AppleTV.
Then F1TV appears to work the same as it did before. Though today's coverage was F1TV only, no SkyF1 feed.

Hoping that last part is temporary. I've gotten used to the Croft/Kravitz/Brundle show.

I linked it earlier, but Week 1 of Bahrain is only getting the last hour live while Week 2 will have the entire thing broadcasted.
